A better option than a whitelist, this way people can actually play the game before getting approved. Though I still prefer having no check for anything like that, but if someone's screwing things up ingame then it's a decent solution

Anyhow thanks for all this effort Friendly regards, Jim
I dont think Miners should be allowed to do that anyway, stops them engaging with other players... freight ships and the llike

We're going to have to create tokens for the existing players, this is probably the part that will take the most time right now, but certainly not as much time as trying to spot the duvelske and pull the lever.

The server cheating message happens for a variety of cause and also false positives. So have no fear, tokens won't be automatically revoked, it will be a manual process done by an admin if we have established proofs of cheating.
That is an interesting idea.
Make sure there will be in-game messages explaining the token thing to new players.
Also, what about enabling an optional endorsement of new players by members?
Of course, it would force members to spend time in Pennsylvania (which is not necessary a good thing due to time issue) but it would also encourage new players to have interactions with members. Practically, it could facilitate the validation of membership by the admins and ease the recruitment for groups and factions and thus develop a stronger community of players.

A positive change, but one thing I'd suggest is to make new players having to wait anywhere between 2 weeks and 1 month before they can get full membership access. The reason is simple - a cheater can pretend to be a new player, ask for a token immediately and start ruining the fun for others much quicker than what he could do if you implement the time restriction. You could also check what that new player has done in the time he was on the server and see if he's suspicious or not.

vouching will be an important part of the process, don't worry we'll detail everything once the technical aspect is completed.

Got one concern, and one other Ill PM to you over skype Alley.
One of the concerns being:
What is to prevent this request system from being as horribly overlooked as the appeal system was? Meaning players having to wait 4 months before a reply finally comes?
This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.
The appeal system was crap and nobody wanted to deal with it. We're not really in the same situation here. We also have more staff members for this reason.
