I personally prefer Discord to skype now. As with Windows 7 and the idea of shift-clicking, I was opposed to discord because it practically changed everything about what Skype did in terms of social communication. However, after the transition, I slowly grew to love it.
The very fact that you can have channels for different roles is beautiful, and I don't have to go download another program just to chat with others over voice. It's a nice 2in1, and I frankly only keep using skype because people who hate Discord are also my faction leaders.

If people want to switch, go ahead and let them. That just means having 2 chat programs instead of one, since there's a number of people who dislike the alternative to Skype even more.
Basically this
This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.
Discord is less practical. But since Skype is slowly becoming like Discord, and players are slowly switching to it, I might as well one day. But probably not soon.
