Montlaville appears onscreen, her uniform gleaming with practiced flawlessness. Her face shows tiny signs of satisfaction : a slight grin and unfrowning eyebrows. Which, for those versed in Chanteloup body language, is a rare case of expressive detonation which may as well be interpreted as "I AM ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED ABOUT EVERYTHING".
Bonjour,
Gentlemen, madame, I've been hearing from you in various ways since yesterday's report. Nothing incriminating... Yet... But clear signs that you felt like you had potential that you'd like to put to good use. Potential and initiative brings victory. I like victory. Therefore, here are your assignements.
She pauses, and lights a Gauloise cigarette.
Lieutenant de Vaisseau Eloi Leclerc,
Your rise through the ranks has been significant. To you, certainly, but to me as well. I don't have a habit of over-promoting people under my command : it makes them either complacent or utterly panicked. In both cases, they make mistakes, and, worst of all, they feel like they need to express their gratitude to me. That's why it does not happen.
It happened with you. I suspect you're a little shaken : you'd be fooling yourself if you weren't. You've entered the world of adults, and MRG adulthood is a terrifying thing that will put you to the test. So cheer up ! Adversity means you'll get better, and I need you to get better. In fact, I need everyone to get better. Getting better at war is a requirement to winning them : that's a constant. In light of this, and to soothe your undoubtedly racing mind, I've thought of something for you to do.
The reports about your flying skills are certainly impressive. With little prior training and in the short time you've served my fleet, you've demonstrated unusual competence in fighter combat and good interpersonal dispositions. I hereby order you to take charge of a new training regimen for our pilots : the Programme d'Instruction et d'Entraînement au Pilotage, or PIEP. Your duties are simple : come up with something to make my pilots better at being pilots. You have no budget limit and the entire infrastructure of the Marine is yours. You will have full power over those who volunteer to make use of the programme, and should you feel some of the men and women NEED the training and are lacking the drive to sign up, let me know and I'll arrange for them to find the motivation. I don't care what it takes : do what you can to bring out the best in our pilots and keep them in top shape for whatever comes next.
It's not an easy task, and is traditionally reserved to the As des As office. That being vacant at present, there will be no one to get in your way, as befits the accomplishment of such an important assignment. You will report only to me. I trust you on this, Capitaine : you've not ranked up so fast to piss around with your new golden rectangles. Show me I was right and Lieutenant de Vaisseau won't be the end of it for you.
If you've got questions about the logistics side of things, consult with Commandant L'Herminier, if you please. Good luck in your efforts.
Enseignes de Vaisseau Félix Lacroix and Guy Josselyn,
Lieutenants,
It has come to my attention that you've been displeased at not seeing your names on the tableau d'avancement lately. I can understand staying at the rank of Enseigne can be underwhelming when you think you've much to offer to the Marine. What I CANNOT understand, however, is two young and somewhat promising junior officers doing VERY LITTLE OF SIGNIFICANCE and expecting to be lauded for it. I normally would have let this slide with only moderate amounts of scorn, but it just so happens that I believe you could be up to some good if you only put some effort in it. Since you've failed to demonstrate the required initiative, I've decided to give you the chance to illustrate yourselves with a series of missions. Listen well.
Gallia needs eyes and ears. The GRI does a good job of listening everywhere we need them to, but they're not always well disposed to share what they find. I can't blame them : inter-service rivalry and budget-hunting is a constant of life, especially in war. Still, I need people to gather information on sensitive issues for the good of the MRG, and to act as my voice where I can't or at least shouldn't be heard. That's what you're going to do, in tandem. I'm partnering you to fulfill the duties of the Messenger office for the duration of this campaign. The endgame for you is to investigate the threat that CA Pierre Vincent Dupetit-Thouars du plateau des Coucous mentioned in his latest report. Not bad, huh ? You will touch what is perhaps the greatest mystery of our history with the tip of your fingers... And perhaps help us find a way to weaponise it for the Roi. But as I said, this will be the endgame. Speak of it to no one.
First, you will be assigned a series of missions, each new one handed following successful completion of the previous. Think of it as a campaign with increasing difficulty that will allow me to check your progress and ensure you're both ready for the big plan. Do well, and I'll see you rewarded and issued the promotions you so ardently desire.
These tasks will be dangerous and delicate, increasingly so. They will require finesse, stealth, cunning, diplomacy and resourcefulness. Which is why I'm adding the aspirant Sabine de Bordeleaux to your team. She's experienced in dealing with foreign groups and difficult situations and will be of great help to you in the coming missions. Make good use of her skills both in support capacity and directly on the field. Cooperation will be of the essence to see this campaign through, and I intend for the three of you to learn to work together as a cohesive unit. Cohesion wins wars.
Now that the introduction is set, here is your first assignment : opération Bernard-l'hermite.
I want a full report on the Natio Octavarium. They're a band of renegades in fealty to the Crayterian rogue state for some reason, and a new player in the region.
I want to know who they are, what they want, what they are up to, and what threat they pose to us and our operations, particularly in the Tau Highway (the Au-Tau-Route !).
Any extra information past that will be a bonus and put to good use by our analysts.
To accomplish this, you have carte blanche. But I don't want a desk-job report : you will lead an investigation on the field. Get out there, locate their bases, find their agents, their accomplices, their enemies. Ask around, hell, even talk to them if it comes to that. Test their combat capabilities if the opportunity arises, too. The idea here is to know who we are dealing with and what level of threat we should expect from them.
I expect a well put-together report. Create a good template that you can use for your next missions, to save your time. And mine.
Opération Bernard-l'hermite is a go. Do not fail me.
Surprisingly, she gets up from her seat and goes to shut down the communication by herself, after making three curt steps towards it, her expression unflinching.

Bonjour Amiral,
This is quite the assignment to be given so shortly after being promoted, but it is indeed one I'll take on with pride. I already have a few ideas regarding the programme, and if nothing else I can hopefully help to lessen the casualties being dealt to our fighter wings. The Libertonians and Bretonians admittedly have some capable pilots, but it is something we can and shall overcome. I am more than willing to help facilitate this by being the lead organizer of PIEP.
I will be sure to keep High Command and you posted of further updates as I finalize the specifics of the programme.

Description de la/des situation/-s
Situation un:
I just recieved the report of one of my Lieutenants, that the convoy with the Scientific Data from the Operation 'Porte Tournante' has finished its assignment. The Data from the undefined hostile forces has been delivered to Fort Lune in order to be examined. As we assess these are blueprints for weapons. The brave men from the station Fort Lune will use those blueprints in order to construct weapons, improved with our own technology. For now those will be only for testing purposes. If they prove useful enough to us we will use them on our warships.

[02.06.2018 16:02:15] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: The commander of this ship shares the same rank as you, lieutenant!

[02.06.2018 16:13:10] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: We thank you for your cooperation.
[02.06.2018 16:13:36] 410th|"Eos": Are this all members of your convoy? If so, we should continue our way.
[02.06.2018 16:13:37] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: One of our escort units is still at the Gironde Jump Gate.
[02.06.2018 16:13:48] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: It will take a short time for him to arrive.
[02.06.2018 16:13:51] 410th|"Eos": Okay. We will wait then.

[02.06.2018 16:14:11] MRG|Eloi.Leclerc: Everything checked out so I did not want to hold him too long.
[02.06.2018 16:14:27] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Understood.
[02.06.2018 16:14:41] 410th|"Eos": L: Fine. If you are ready, we should move on to the next lane.
[02.06.2018 16:14:42] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: The convoy is complete. Monsieur L, please lead the way.
[02.06.2018 16:14:57] 410th|"Eos": Of course.
[02.06.2018 16:17:00] MRG|Eloi.Leclerc: Be on alert, there was a contact at the gate as I jumped.
[02.06.2018 16:17:10] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Copy.
[02.06.2018 16:17:12] 410th|"Eos": Well, I think it was a criminal.
[02.06.2018 16:17:21] 410th|"Eos": Not sure if we can catch him though.
[02.06.2018 16:17:47] 410th|"Eos": I saw him before in Ille-de-France in a Pitbull train.
[02.06.2018 16:17:48] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Catching criminals is not our task.
[02.06.2018 16:17:54] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: "He'll get his day. Then he'll hang like the rest. It makes little difference."
[02.06.2018 16:18:02] 410th|"Eos": L: Indeed.
[02.06.2018 16:19:32] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: A criminal freely using our tradelanes. How typical for our Police.
[02.06.2018 16:20:07] 410th|"Eos": I saw him carrying Human Organs. I will get him next time.
[02.06.2018 16:20:29] 410th|"Eos": Now to our last waypint.
[02.06.2018 16:20:34] MRG|Eloi.Leclerc: Once this war is over, I'm sure we will clean up the filth in the GRP
[02.06.2018 16:20:41] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: "Mon Dieu, those Sirian barbarians."
[02.06.2018 16:21:16] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: We have visuals of the station.
[02.06.2018 16:21:37] 410th|"Eos": L: There we are.
[02.06.2018 16:22:10] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Bon. This was as easy as expected.
[02.06.2018 16:22:15] 410th|"Eos": L: We have everything set up, you are free to dock.
[02.06.2018 16:22:24] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Our forces are well doing in keeping our space clean.
[02.06.2018 16:22:44] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Now to your briefing, monsieur L.
[02.06.2018 16:22:50] 410th|"Eos": L: Indeed. The danger, especially in this system is very low.
[02.06.2018 16:22:59] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: You are the base administrator, I suppose?
[02.06.2018 16:23:23] 410th|"Eos": L: You can say so. I do not take all decisions alone, but yes.
[02.06.2018 16:24:04] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: This is enough. You are aware of the secrecy of this assignment, oui?
[02.06.2018 16:24:12] 410th|"Eos": Oui.
[02.06.2018 16:25:05] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: We do not have a proper lab in Leeds, which is why we could not fully examine the recovered data.
[02.06.2018 16:25:42] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: All we know at the moment is that these are blueprints for some kind of ion weapon.
[02.06.2018 16:26:23] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Yet we do not know what exactly will happen if this weapon is fired and when it hits its target.
[02.06.2018 16:26:32] 410th|"Eos": L: Ions? Well, I think you can build a weapon with that.
[02.06.2018 16:27:07] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: We expect the effects to be low on the outter hull, though.
[02.06.2018 16:27:13] 410th|"Eos": L: What kind of effect would you wish? We will try to get the maximum power out of it, of course.
[02.06.2018 16:27:34] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: However, we think this is worth investigating.
[02.06.2018 16:27:45] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: "One wouldn't normally associate that kind of technology with the savage curs out there."
[02.06.2018 16:28:01] 410th|"Eos": L: Indeed. We will try to get the best out of it.
[02.06.2018 16:28:14] 410th|"Eos": L:
[02.06.2018 16:29:29] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: You are correct, Madame Lieutenant. We recovered this data from non-human ships.
[02.06.2018 16:30:07] 410th|"Eos": L: Now that's interesting. It will take some time to analyse all this.
[02.06.2018 16:30:28] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: After we destroyed a fleet of unknown intruders we found one of their bases in the so-called Tau's.
[02.06.2018 16:31:04] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO:There is a report about this secret operation. You can find it by investigating our database.
[02.06.2018 16:31:07] 410th|"Eos": L: May I ask which Tau systems or is this information restricted? I am operating very often in the Taus.
[02.06.2018 16:31:49] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: This information is restricted and onlyaccessible to marine royale officers.
[02.06.2018 16:32:34] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Sabine: "Are these the only copy of the files? Or is it safe to assume that this /thing/ is still in enemy labs in Sirius?"
[02.06.2018 16:32:38] 410th|"Eos": L: I understand.
[02.06.2018 16:33:16] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: This is unknown to us, madame lieutenant.
[02.06.2018 16:34:03] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Right now, we have no information about their origin or their strength.
[02.06.2018 16:34:42] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: But one thing is certain, our weapons will inflict deep holes in their ships, whenever they dare to enter our space again!
[02.06.2018 16:35:13] 410th|"Eos": L: I will make sure those weapons will force our enemies to surrender.
[02.06.2018 16:35:52] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: The Interet General will dock with Fort Lune now and unload the scientific data.
[02.06.2018 16:36:00] 410th|"Eos": L: Good.
[02.06.2018 16:36:56] 410th|"Eos": L: We will make good use of the delivered data.
[02.06.2018 16:36:58] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: About your payment.
[02.06.2018 16:37:38] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: We will now transfer 50 million Franks to the bank account of the Fort Lune station.
[02.06.2018 16:38:05] 410th|"Eos": L: Okay. Thank you, this money sure will help.
[02.06.2018 16:38:20] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Once you deliver the weapons to us, you will be payed another 50 million Franks. Is this acceptable?
[02.06.2018 16:38:51] 410th|"Eos": L: I do not care much about the payment. We are all on the same side in this war. But it will help.
[02.06.2018 16:39:34] /givecash 410th|"eos" 50000000
[02.06.2018 16:39:34] You have sent 50.000.000 credits to 410th|"Eos"
[02.06.2018 16:39:51] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Transation complete. This completes our business here.
[02.06.2018 16:40:04] 410th|"Eos": L: Thank you. We will start the research very soon. I have just one question left.
[02.06.2018 16:40:49] 410th|"Eos": L: Do you wish only the blueprints of the weapon or also a mountable sample of it?
[02.06.2018 16:41:22] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Mountable samples. For testing purposes, two will be sufficient.
[02.06.2018 16:41:33] 410th|"Eos": L: We are able to produce such weapons, but the transportation could be dangerous.
[02.06.2018 16:42:02] 410th|"Eos": L: Allright. We can deliver them to you if you want to, or you can pick them up when they're ready.
[02.06.2018 16:42:03] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: We are ready to send another escorded convoy to take the weapons.
[02.06.2018 16:42:35] 410th|"Eos": L: Perfect. Then we are ready to begin the research and construction.
[02.06.2018 16:42:58] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Thank you for your assistance, monsieur L. We expect your word soon.
[02.06.2018 16:43:19] 410th|"Eos": L: Thank you for the honor of this request.
[02.06.2018 16:43:32] 410th|"Eos": L: Please have a safe way back.
[02.06.2018 16:43:35] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: All units, back to the formation. Next destination is Planet Orleans Orbit.
[02.06.2018 16:43:55] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Charging cruise engines.

[02.06.2018 16:48:18] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: A plus tard, le monsieurs. L'Esperance, out.
[02.06.2018 16:48:21] MRG|Eloi.Leclerc: Unfortunately I need to remain in Gallia for some meetings, I will be returning to Leeds later.
[02.06.2018 16:48:42] MRG|SS-Interet.General: RO: Be calm, madame Lieutenant. We have been given the rest of the day free.
I am writing to report of the success of our convoy operation out of Occupied Leeds. Thanks to our efforts at organizing Task Force Dunkerque, approximately 2.8 thousand casualties have been rotated away from Planet Leeds, and 4 fresh battalions of Royal Marines have been redeployed to the front lines from Gallic space. We consider this a great accomplishment in that it confirms our ability to sustain the Gallic War Machine as the conflicts with Liberty and Bretonnia continue.
With the situation at the front lines quickly de-escalating, I am of the opinion that convoy (and anti-convoy) operations will continue to play increasingly important roles. Our fleets at the front can be resupplied more timely, and we can rotate Royal Army elements from planetary conflicts periodically so as to fully maximize our combat efficiency both on the ground and in space. I will continue to monitor the situation at the front lines with Bretonnia, and see to it that our supply lines are protected from B.A.F. raiders and saboteurs across this theatre. I feel we are also ready to begin our initial planning for the proposed 5GCommerce Raiding Units, and take the fight to our enemies.
Lastly, I'd also like to mention and especially thank the escorts of Task Force Dunkerque, whose vigilance and professionalism saw the mission through. Through careful fleet management, the CO's of the convoy were able to coordinate and successfully lead the train throughout the operation.
We did not run into any hostile vessels this time admiral, but rest assured the enemy will never find a Gallic convoy wanting.
Sincerely Yours,
Lt. Sabine de Bordeleaux
Commander of the Taureau G.A.T. L'Esperance

Description de la situation
Situation un:
I undocked from the Battleship Castres in New London to conduct a hit-and-run raid on Bretonian war material at Southampton Shipyard. The raid itself was successful, destroying tons of vital materials and equipment for maintaining the enemy war machine. On my way back to the Castres, however, I was intercepted by a BAF fighter flown by a Lieutenant Martin Beck. The fighter itself was a Libertonian-made BDR-804 Guardian-class Very Heavy Fighter. A short engagement ensued, but despite my best efforts, my fighter was shot out from under me. I was picked up by a patrol from the Castres before I could be captured by the enemy.
[05.06.2018 14:34:02] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: Hello there
[05.06.2018 14:34:08] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: Fine day for a war, wouldn't you say Lieutenant?
[05.06.2018 14:34:18] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: you started this war
[05.06.2018 14:34:26] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: you and your king
[05.06.2018 14:34:29] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: Well, I didn't personally.
[05.06.2018 14:35:15] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: What brings you to this corner of Gallic space, anyway?
[05.06.2018 14:35:59] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: Waiting for reinforcements, perhaps?
[05.06.2018 14:36:17] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: not really. just wanted to see what kind of person i'm dealing with
[05.06.2018 14:36:34] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: The perfect combination of low pay and big guns, of course.
[05.06.2018 14:36:52] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: i see.
[05.06.2018 14:37:08] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: so you're alliance is that of money
[05.06.2018 14:37:28] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: No, no. I serve the King for love of country. The pay is just lousy.
[05.06.2018 14:37:47] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: you serve a cruel tyrant
[05.06.2018 14:38:18] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: His Majesty is good to his people. You don't exactly have the moral high ground here, you know.
[05.06.2018 14:38:34] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: I've been to Leeds and seen what your illegetimate rulers have done to the place.
[05.06.2018 14:39:11] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: i guess you got a point there. leeds was polluted badly
[05.06.2018 14:39:20] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: everyone makes mistakes
[05.06.2018 14:39:28] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: difference is
[05.06.2018 14:39:37] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: His Majesty would've never allowed such a thing to happen because he loves his people.
[05.06.2018 14:39:40] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: we know when to own up to ours
[05.06.2018 14:39:46] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: Is it so wrong to share that love with everyone?
[05.06.2018 14:39:51] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: your king is still making mistakes
[05.06.2018 14:40:11] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: loves 'his' people
[05.06.2018 14:40:22] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: destroys all others
[05.06.2018 14:40:51] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: We're making improvements on Leeds every day. Ever since we liberated it, life has been improving for its people.
[05.06.2018 14:41:06] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: i guess we have stalled long enough. lets get down to shooting each other then
[05.06.2018 14:41:09] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: Some day, we'll do the same for New London and Cambridge, as well.
[05.06.2018 14:41:28] MRG|Marcel.Broussard: Ahh, I was wondering when we'd graduate from words to more interesting means of war.
[05.06.2018 14:41:29] BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck.: ready or not
[05.06.2018 14:44:46] Death: MRG|Marcel.Broussard was put out of action by BAF|Lt.Martin.Beck. (Gun).

Description de la situation
Situation un:
Good day monsieurs, today I was asked to reinforce the patrols in Tau-23, that because there was some ships of unknown procedence there, so after we arrived and proceeded to link with the local patrols we encountered some "AI" ships, looks like they are autonomuos robots, I will leave the rest of that matter to the Officier responsable to manage the contact.
After that, we stopped two attacks from the Crayter terrorists, looks like they are becoming more desperate because in the first attack some type of dreadnought shot us alone, only to cloack and escape, then, in their second try, their flagship attacked us alone, only when he was in the verge of beign destroyed is that his reinforcements arrived, lucky for us the Olympia and the Saturnius where destroyed. The problem is that my bomber was heavily damaged in the battle and I couldnt help with the fighters, only my training and some luck helped me to crash dock in the Battleship Guillestre.
I can't add pictures of the patrol and battle because like most systems on my bomber the gun camera was destroyed.

Mesdames et Messieurs, Officiers Distingués de la Marine Royale Gauloise,
I, Madeline Sabine IV of the Bordeleaux Household of Lyonnnais, Coureur of the Marine Royale Gauloise and Commander of the RNS L'Esperance (Perilous-Class GRN Corvette), have done service.
During a routine patrol of the Leeds system, my crew and I stumbled upon a BIS Operative flying what appeared to be a bomber. It was clear very early on that there would be little to discuss, and so hostilities were immediately opened as the Bretonnian cur tapped heavily into his torpedoes and his mines. I am happy to report however, that SUPREME GALLIC TECHNOLOGY and INTERAL GALLIC POWER enabled us to hold the line, and evade most incoming projectiles. The skirmish lasted for a total of approximately 17 minutes, seeing a drawn-out exchange of torpedoes, energy weapons fire, mines and silencer missiles atop the East Leeds Smog Cloud, after which the bomber cloaked, and the L'Esperance returned to Leeds to restock. Ultimately the L'Esperance failed to verify the bomber's destruction, but the point was made - LEEDS is GALLIC.
My crew and I shall remain stationed at Leeds until further notice, mainly while we resupply our vessel and continue our system sweeps to guard against future Bretonnian incursions into Gallic space. I am somewhat pleased to report at this point the slow but consistent improvement of my crew, and recommend particularly for further training my gunnery sergeants, particularly at working the 'Silencer' missiles my ship equips for dealing with lighter craft. I would also like to report a previous engagement in which my crew and I arrived to support other MRG assets already on the scene, with what appeared to be a Counsillard cruiser in the Tau-23 system. Battle logs show that the killing blow was delivered with our main forward gun.
At this point however I must request for lighter fighter support, or an assault transport to accompany the L'Esperance. Squaring off with fighters and bombers is all well and good, but my subordinates have expressed no less than once that they are itching to begin raiding our lower class enemies' supply lines as a 5G-listed corvette. As ultimately I am at your disposal, it makes little difference to me as to whether Commandement Centrale prefers that I continue my patrols of the newly acquired systems, or if I am to continue my work as a 5G raider. I only ask for clarification, and the necessary fighter escort, an accompanying Taureau or even another gunboat so as to fully maximize the Perilous' combat capabilities. Once this has been sorted out, we will return to Lyonnais for a brief refit and rotation of crew, and can be deployed again to the front lines, or behind them, within 2-3 days.
In the meantime, the L'Esperance's watchful guard, my vigilance and my crew's high spirits, the war continues.
Cordialement,
Madeline Sabine de Bordeleaux IV, MRG

Mesdames et Messieurs, Officiers Distingués de la Marine Royale Gauloise,
I, Madeline Sabine IV of the Bordeleaux Household of Lyonnnais, Coureur of the Marine Royale Gauloise and Commander of the RNS L'Esperance (Perilous-Class GRN Corvette), have done service.
The L'Esperance continued its routine patrols today. From data collected from our earlier encounter with the Bretonnian bomber, we decided to requisition fighter escort this time - in the form of a young cadet by the name of Mia Antoinette, aboard her "Caracal" light fighter. Our route began from our rendezvous in the Tau-23 system, and after an initial briefing on today's patrol and the inherent risks therein, we departed for Tau-31 and the Leeds systems immediately. Initial sensor scans of the area showed no unauthorized vessels in the area, and so we continued our patrol to the Magellan System, and then on to Dublin, where we conducted more local system scans, lest any BMM, BFF or other miners were operating with impunity in a system claimed by Gallia, or if there were any more blockade runners attempting to use Dublin as a staging ground for the lucrative gold ore routes that take them from Bretonnian-held space to Gallia where their cargo is sold. We returned to Leeds shortly thereafter, and backtracked further to the safer shores of Tau-23 where both the Rose Noir and the L'Esperance remain docked and are undergoing maintenance checks.
Henceforth I strongly recommend sending our patrols out in complements rather than singular vessels. I must also commend the cadet on her professional conduct, and while we encountered no Bretonnian or Libertonian contacts, I am confident she will do fine and perform satisfactorily. I would like to request that she be transferred to Bordeleaux Shipyard on Lyon in my jurisdiction, as I refuse to see good talent waste away in the backwaters of Tau-23.
[13.06.2018 01:12:47] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: I like you, cadet. We should have tea when we both get some time off.
[13.06.2018 01:14:49] Rose.Noir: Oui.We would have to see how much of freetime my shiftplan allows me to have.
[13.06.2018 01:15:28] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: Absurd. We are Gallic. Not Rheinlanders. We are civilized people who let ourselves have fun once in a while!
[13.06.2018 01:17:14] Rose.Noir: Alright. Well...tell that our Flight Commander...he is one of the: "you have to use your freetime to train on the sims" kind of people. Most time it is 9 to 10 hours you have to get some rest between shifts after the training is over.
[13.06.2018 01:17:59] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: How ridiculous. Send me his name when we dock and I will have you transferred to my wing.
[13.06.2018 01:18:11] Rose.Noir: I will gladly do that.
[13.06.2018 01:18:19] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: I will not have GRN officers slaving away like peasants.
That concludes this patrol's report. I intend for my corps to begin Transport Logistics operations in the coming weeks. I will remain in touch.
Bordeleaux, out.

Mesdames et Messieurs, Officiers Distingués de la Marine Royale Gauloise,
I, Madeline Sabine IV of the Bordeleaux Household of Lyonnnais, Coureur of the Marine Royale Gauloise and Commander of the RNS L'Esperance (Perilous-Class GRN Corvette), have done service in the name of His Majesty, the Kingdom and the Royal Navy.
During our routine patrol for the day, we chanced upon a Roc Bomber flying a Bretonnian SIS ID. After negotions quickly broke down (I must say, I am rather unimpressed by the crude savagery of these Bretonnians. They fail to even humor me or my NCO's, which irritates me even more), we immediately powered up weapons and engaged. It was a rather uneventful skirmish, as throughout the ordeal the L'Esperance's shields held as we kept lancing the poor thing with silencer missiles and blanketing fire from our turrets. The brief encounter lasted approximately 5 minutes according to my bridge officers' reports, and abruptly ended after the SIS agent broke off.
[14.06.2018 02:20:09] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: Unidentified Bretonnian vessel. Please give your ID and intentions. This is Lt. Commandant Sabine de Bordeleaux.
[14.06.2018 02:20:55] Death: Friend was put out of action by a hostile vessel.
[14.06.2018 02:21:02] [SIS]-Telic: My ID is Telic. My intention is burn New Paris to the ground and and fly the Bretonian flag over the royal palace.
[14.06.2018 02:21:10] [SIS]-Telic: See, I'm being very cooperative with your demands.
[14.06.2018 02:21:36] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: <Sigh> I know you're smarter than that, Bretonnian. What is the real reason you're here?
[14.06.2018 02:22:54] [SIS]-Telic: Have you ever played a game of tic tac toe?
[14.06.2018 02:23:11] [SIS]-Telic: I bet I could win you in a game of tic tac toe.
[14.06.2018 02:23:17] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: I'm not here for games, Bretonnian.
[14.06.2018 02:23:20] [SIS]-Telic: You do look like a loser after all.
[14.06.2018 02:23:36] [SIS]-Telic: Oh. Well what are you here for then?
[14.06.2018 02:24:47] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: This is our routine patrol route.
[14.06.2018 02:25:39] [SIS]-Telic: Oh, and what do you reckon I'm here for?
[14.06.2018 02:25:48] [SIS]-Telic: Give me your best shot
[14.06.2018 02:25:53] [SIS]-Telic: Hint, it's not a patrol!
[14.06.2018 02:26:24] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: A number of things come to mind, Bretonnian. None of them particularly honorable.
[14.06.2018 02:26:39] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: Your manner of speaking tells me that well enough.
[14.06.2018 02:27:18] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: Well, My crew and I are not in a fighting mood today. Do you wish to humor us a bit longer, or shall we be going?
[14.06.2018 02:27:32] [SIS]-Telic: That's what I call asking for it!
[14.06.2018 02:27:46] [SIS]-Telic: Here at the agency, we call this a targetting killing, mesdames!
[14.06.2018 02:27:55] [SIS]-Telic: LASERS POWERED UP!
[14.06.2018 02:28:05] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: All crew, battlestations.
[14.06.2018 02:32:01] [SIS]-Telic: I suppose that's what we call a failed operations, until again mesdames commandant!
[14.06.2018 02:32:24] MRG|TL-'L'Esperance: Bordeleaux: Hmm.
Patrols in the system continue.
