Its a shame, all that build up and by the looks of things the NEMP was delivered with essentially no-one around. All the people wanting to defend the attack didnt get chance, bit of a waste if you ask me, i was looking forward to trying to thwart evil plans.
Well It was not intended to be like this, it was also not intended to be in an near-empty system.
The timing wasn't picked, nor was the NEMP event pre-planned with both factions, which would have been horrible to Commune side, as we lack serious numbers to log anyway, not to talk around the subject how empty the Freeport 11 surroundings are.
I also don't see the problem in this, Freeport 11 is mostly empty these days, and now when something's happening , mostly Zoner side of the players start complaining.
It has been active ish latly core and order engagements some nomad player attacks and so on. It could of waited is my point, especially with this mining event on, a time could of been picked to make your strike and then you would of had a sizable hive of activity when it happens, could of caused alot of confusion to.
Instead this just feels, meh, like i really wanted to at least try and stop the strike, had all that hubbub in the comms channel about it, people threatening you etc etc and then its a case of, oh..bomb went off..noone really saw it..guess this is a thing now. See where im coming from?
Its not the event im complaining about its the sort of anticlimactic state of it. "oh noes a bomb threat lets do what we can to maybe avert it..oh it happend.."
If you are looking for an inRP explanation, just for you to understand.
Think of this as a sneak-attack.
Would you risk losing Millions worth of research and a priceless warhead, or you would go for a suicide bombing against a whole armada, where your chances to succeed are close to 0
Inrp wise yes, but you said to me that it was to make activity in delta but the way it was handled OOCly doing it when very little people were around seems backwards to that statement.
As i say its not the event thats at fault its just the way it was done, INRP makes sense, but for generating Activity, maybe not so much.
