Clearly the usual suspects are using this thread to break Rule 0.0, and push their OORP hate agenda. I'll request this thread is locked now. Before that, to make it very clear:
If we allowed the excuse they might be away, unavailable, on vacation or any other variation of that, it would be used at every stage as an OORP defense against any sort of INRP consequence. Someone wants to siege you? Just say you're not around. Immune. Plot wants to be implemented? Sorry, I'm not available. You blew up my trade ship... how dare you, I was afk and not being around gives you immunity. There are oorp and inrp mechanisms available he could and should have used. This is especially true as he's unlikely to be away as the base is still constructing the platforms, and regular shipments are clearly still arriving - as others have said already, either he's foolishly given his masterpass away to someone who isn't checking forums, or he isn't checking forums. Either way, its a legal violation, regardless of why it was undertaken. The law is pretty clear; if you break a law, you get sieged and/or fined.
In the meantime, INRP messages are available to him. He was contacted for a reason; not required by our law, by the way - as soon as a base violates the law we can blow it away, we almost always chose to communicate with them and try fines instead - precisely because I am very well aware of how much effort it takes to build and maintain a POB, being that I maintain a great many - all in compliance with RP and Law. Roleplay is Roleplay. I'm afraid he's broken the law and has not responded to any messages, therefore we don't really have a choice in any case. RP is RP, and we've got to follow what military orders are for such circumstances.
As to giving them more time: for a Core 2 POB, the server rules require the player be given 24 hrs of advanced warning by means of the POB Siege Declarations thread. He was given more than double the required time. And he still has time to respond. If you're concerned and you have some for of contact with him, I suggest you tell him to read the forum and deal with it ASAP, or task someone else to do it. Since no rules are being violated, I suggest you all either find a way to contact the guy and actually help him or take your hate-train elsewhere.
Devs. Please lock thread.

Not very legal POB (restricted location) in Liberty still stands for 5th month. Maybe you could be more lenient and wait a day or two more. Bump comm more often. See if there is a ship you might PM about the POB.
Instantly going after a POB just for weapon platforms seems like very aggressive thing to do inRP and ooRP.

It's funny how this is said when the RM is justifying its actions against someone else, but when another party uses the same line of logic to establish why such an action is being taken against the RM you'll have @Timinator claiming that it makes no sense. I can only hope the double-standard wasn't intentional.

This thread should have been locked after the second post. The ad hominems are ridiculous.
To provide a constructive note here:
- Keep in mind that POBs are not considered something to be done by a single person. Things are encouraging enough to have a bunch of people do bases on their very own, but it's always a good idea to get someone else into the boat, be it only for the sake of having someone who can represent you when you are not around. Fruitloops made an attempt here to reach out, which in itself is fine, but it's just as fine of the opponents to deny the request, regardless of the reasons. Would have been cool, yes. Would also have been cool if Greylook would have worded his response differently, but in the end, it's okay.
People often forget that the core element of POBs is that they are the one thing in Discovery that you can build that can get destroyed, and that literally anyone can do that. This is something you need to think about when placing a PoB. Contacting the people in the ZOI that have the ability to kill the base, dealing with them. All in all, POBs, as they are right now, are not profitable, except you have established contacts and made all the deals you need to survive. POBs are definitely not something for beginners, just like mercy is something nobody should expect on the internet, especially not in this community.
The only thing you can expect here is that there is always someone to show up and complain about people acting within the rules with made-up unwritten rules. Expect the worst and hope for the best.
let me correct this: i am not owner of aluminium, i dunno him. but i understand, the same institution that got 50 mio or more from owner for protection and allowance, is starting to kill a peaceful trader-hauler base because of 2 platforms that should protect the base from enemies of rheinland lawfuls.....i dont understand what the whole thing takes from logical behavior.
