This is an old debate, one that took place while I was an admin. While Zoners pretty much live on the edge, they do venture into house space for those things they cannot get elsewhere. The current rule is the ship must be a ship with a hold of 3,600 or less. I use a BWT and while my routes are pretty Zoner, I do venture into house space for things. For example, pharmaceuticals on Planet Denver. I think the current rule should stand.

Zoners can't abandon house space, simply because many goods can only be taken in house space bases. Also many goods that zoners "produce" or are produced outside house space that zoners can carry, have their best selling places on house space, so there is an interest on trading on house space, even on sovereign house space!

in story terms Planet Erie was once a Zoner planet and there is still a Zoner community there and Betlehem is part of a deal between Liberty and corrupted Zoners that sold Erie to Liberty. FP 14 looks like is going to end ... there is another base like FP14 that people forget, that is FP8 in Sigma 15 that .. basicly nobody cares, mainly because it don't sell anything good, only ships including the ZBT.

The current rule is ok, despite you can't make most of the best trade routes in a big transport, thing that you can do with a freelancer pirate train, but there are still good trade routes that you can do , so no need to change
