I'd be in favor of trialing balance magic on Light Mortars if we return Cruiser Razors as balance copies of Gunboat Razors with equivalent energy drain to cruiser core. Gunboats are allowed to have this instakill capability because gunboat razors are largely ineffective against anything that is not a snub. The issue with the LM, much like the SNAC, is that it's an anticap weapon doing anti snub work. It has received a number of nerfs over the past several years as well, primarily turret turn rate and projectile speed nerfs. This hasn't done much because the strength of cruisers lies in their zoom capabilities and their comparatively small size and high maneuverability when compared to larger classes.
tl;dr - I don't see an issue with people having the current anti-cap or anti-snub potential of an LM on a cruiser, but they probably ought not have both.
To be very clear on what I am proposing when I say "cruiser razors"
Gunboat Battlerazor
Hull Damage: 18,750
Shield Damage: 9,375
Energy Drain: 100000 (1/5th of a medium GB core)
Turn Rate: 90
Projectile Speed: 900 m/s
Range: 1170 m
Refire Rate: 0.50
Cruiser Battlerazor
Hull Damage: 18,750
Shield Damage: 9,375
Energy Drain: 360000 (1/5th of a medium cruiser core)
Turn Rate: 90
Projectile Speed: 900 m/s
Range: 1170 m
Refire Rate: 0.50

Still iffy about Cruiser anti-snub but this actually sounds good.

If the snub pilot is concentrated and has a good sense of surrounding ships (in particular, cruiser course and distance to it), he can avoid being killed for a long period of time. It's generally harder than not being hit by a SNAC in group fight, but if you put some effort into your flying it will pay off.

Ah, just like Zappers.
Absolutely useless, but now in my heavy slot, dealing identical damage as a GUNBOAT weapon, at a massive energy increase, with no increased range, speed, or damage of any sort. In a heavy slot, not a secondary slot.
