People wanted to have a forced encounter for roleplaying , getting a fast and huge ammount of money that was worth the risk.
Now with the price nerfs, its 12m for me to buy a full cargo with my pilgrim liner, and 33m of profit on arrival = only 21m gained.
All of this event could have brought a lot of activity and roleplay encounters, for such miserable rewards, nobody is bothering with it. Im gonna go back to smuggle cardmine at this rate.
I went through another trip for this even and no rheinlander of any kind showed up. I only saw traders who were carrying more profitable cargo.
I do a run everyday, the price is fine IMHO. If you want encounters then stop complaining about the payoff. It is space money worth nothing, but RP that's a social interaction which is priceless.
What im really a bit worried about that i have seen NO Federal ships anywhere.
I mean you would expect that they would at least be defending their station in Munich and the incomming transports with aid for them.
So i wonder, do the Federals actually exist???
If not, then this is a crappy trade event, i mean RM has enough troubles with Hessians and so, why do this?
Then make a real event with RM and RH, yes?

I do want encounters (and at the same time not), but if the payoff isnt worth it, then why bother?
There is a big difference between carrying a cargo that sets you hostile to a specific faction to hunt you down, between a pirate who is just going to demand from you a sum of money to pass through. The risk is MUCH more greater, and it should be worth my time.
Also, those who intercept the transports, could also use a cargo ship to grab the cargo from the ships they destroy and sell it for themselves. But then again, who is going to bother for just a pathetic 21m of profit, when you can just make a BMM, mine gold to new berlin with a hegemon, and make 25m WIHOUT the risks compared to the event.
And to make myself clear, im talking from a gameplay perspective, not roleplay, because the roleplay should enhance the gameplay. No one is going to risk losing 12m credits for a trip that could get you killed.
This evening the Stork transport Tranz_Shipping was intercepted by two Rheinland Military ships near the Hamburg jumphole in Hudson with a cargo of 4730 Depleted Uranium.
They first demanded the ship to stop, by the time they decided to open fire the transport was only 8k from Colbay Depot and managed to dock without any bots left and damaged, a very close escape.
Personally I just added some spice to this event by passing the territory while smuggling with various characters. I was able to make multiple interactions, good chats, pirated by multiple pirates, had a clash with the RPF even when it ended in a different way than it was planned when an indie jumped on Durandal. So in a nutsell I feel the main goal is successful. To boost activity and player interactions. If you are up to pixel money, than for sure there are much more profitable ways to do, but according to me RP is more important, especially when you are able to make hundreds of millions on some hours in this game.

Trade Event
OUTCOME
I'm very sorry to everyone for the delay in formally closing these events down (the sell points have been disabled since the patch release). The post-release churn has kept me busy, but it'd be remiss of me not to post the results to show how everyone did. As explained in the first post, this event was purely intended to provoke RP, so there are no formal outcomes resulting from it. A hell of a lot of you made a great deal of money however.
