How can you imagine aliens making demands? "Human, drop the cargo and then kill yourself"? Nomads engaging Human transports is fine, it's not like they are active enough to be a menace to everyone everywhere everytime.

Sad but true. I had an unpleasant encounter where two players were metagaming, suiciding to spawn in the system I am, just to do the mandatory roleplay, and nuke me (armorless, empty).
It's a mather of player's sportsmanship, and how people don't care for the other side. Message to everyone: care for the other side. Share some of the fun #SharingIsCaring
I have come across many players metagaming their way around Sirius! - I believe that the Metagame rule not only contradicts itself but is unable to be policed while you state in the metagame rule "You must take the encounter as legitimate" I think you'll find that at least 60% of encounters are not legitimate and are purely metagaming!!
I once asked for clarification on the metagame rule and pretty much got nothing!
My proposal for this is to remove players locations from teh player list or remove the player list altogether it is a common knowledge that factions will all log on together if there is a problem i have been in systems and have had enemies magically appear out of nowhere while i was roleplaying!
The Metagame rule is a farce and should not even be there because while Discovery doesn't do enough to stop Metagaming it will always be a problem i for one will bring up in a factions official rules there is a statement that promotes the use of metagaming i have read this with my own eyes and interpreted it to mean only positive attitude towards using the Player list to know where players are!
Discovery will never stop the use of metagaming it is impossible when you see even official factions promoting the use of metagaming!
Something needs to be done and done fast to really strengthen the ability to stop metagaming here, you will certainly keep many more players than you are currently!
I've come across several players that belong to the official factions, metagame infront of my eyes, knowing something ooRPly, and kind of indirectly saying it in roleplay, not crossing the line it's sanctionable to the current standards. This rule should certainly be more explained, when it's appropriate to submit a violation report, as some players intentionally do this, therefore exploit this rule.
It is exploited because it cannot be controlled - I am a Games Master from another game world have been for many years if theres something i abhor it's metagaming! I believe it should be a rule to be changed, updated and had more effort to remove the easy exploitation of a situation because honestly Official factions should be ashamed of themselves for not only promoting it but openly metagaming! I have not been here long but i will stand for my rights as a gamer to game peacefully without the risk of metagamers ruining my fun!

What about having escorts, or some other form of muscle to protect your cargo?
Then again, the absence of having a cd-launcher will magically protect the trader with an unsullied aura of innocence. My moneymaker is protected from Nomie caps - huzzah!
Why was the line drawn with the cd-launcher anyway? Seems mighty arbitrary.

Ok, If I fly my Zoner (quasi-lawful) Whale (no cd)) under the nose of an Irra, I can do so with no repercussions? So I would be untouchable rules-wise?
But If I fly a Zoner IDed Serenity (equipped with cd) under the nose of the beforementioned evil entity, he/she can fire on my ship with impunity?
