Don't make it easier to get money than it already is. If you make everything cheap, it makes CAU8 not special anymore. Then everyone has one. The reason why it's such a prized commodity is because it's hard to get, and earning it makes it all the more better. Don't take that away and just make it so everyone has one, like they did with the ship armor. I'm okay with that one, but doing that with caps ruins it.

im sorry but if you need that 0.4 multiplier to win then i guess you should just git gud.
CAU8's means your own mistakes are more forgiving. They are essentially a safety net to prevent you from being overly punished for mistakes, the worse you are at cap pvp the more you need it. Not to mention that 0.4 on a ship with millions of HP isn't insignificant.

This.
This thread is not about the overall money-making from powertrading (which hasn't changed in years), and it most certainly isn't about armor upgrades or anything of the sort.
It's about missions currently being so much more profitable than any other form of income, transports no longer have any justification for existence besides supplying POBs. Again, the only way one could be accepting of this situation is if one accepts that transports and trading shouldn't play any role in the economy, which is what is currently the case.

You are mistaking greatly! Even now with mission and their "high profits" (absolutely not true) there are a lot of traders around. I can say you so because I was trading today most of my day and even now when Im on my other ship there are people going around ad trading stuff, mining buying selling etc. So in my opinion the only things that have to be done now are delete this thread and begin to deal with thing how they are now and as they will be from now on.
I personally got the feeling that you are afraid if things change!

Anecdotal. The fact that traders still exist doesn't mean they have a reason to. Any player looking at the numbers is going to notice that it isn't worthwhile to trade if all you want to do is make money, and will cease doing so, as I have - unless they're just seriously averse to TS'ing caps or just really love powertrading for the fun of it.
I think it would be very difficult to argue that solo missiongrinding in a single system with basically no risk or effort should equal the profit of powertrading ore, but I think it's impossible to argue that it should exceed the profit as it currently does.

Smaller transports don't have a reason to exist with 5ks existing, but they do.
Minor pirate factions don't have a reason to exist with the pirate ID/Outcasts/Corsairs, but they do
People don't need to fly ships like the Wraith or Avenger because the Slepnir(or whatever) and Guardian exist, but they do
Just because there's something better on paper doesn't mean everyone is going to pick it

Both requires teamwork and a "transport" hauling things to ensure that we both have fun pewpewing ships and you can also do a trade run that is pretty risky but very rewarding.
So to get the maximum profit, you need to cooperate with people
However, 50% of people logging in are not active in discord nor forums. We need an ingame portal where people can talk.
This is a good idea. Make fully cashing out from missions take more time and effort. It also encourages piracy of mission cargo (something that is now non-existent, except sci-data / Nom remains).

I'd love to see NPC pilot prices buffed a bit (but only the high rank ones, low effort background NPCs should not be worth much). Crossfire has a nice system where every NPC drops pilots of different ranks. I believe the commodities are already in-game but it was never implemented fully. You just need to split the current bounty in bounty payout + pilot sell price.
This would also make interesting to RP a prison transport or something. Imagine offering your transport services to mission farmers so they can continue mission farming while you cart the spoils to the nearest prison.
Making some mission zones "overlap" is also an interesting idea that came to my mind. Imagine two opposing factions mission farming, but then they pick the missions close to one another and suddenly you find yourself in a big battle with NPCs and lots of players. Sort of like the campaign missions, but more fun!
Also, trade (especially in smaller ships) / smuggling needs a rework so there's more incentive to do it, but that's not the topic of this thread.
@Karst You should listen to Charo because its fully true what he is saying. Dont be scared of change just embrace it since more variety this game has better it is.

The really small ones exist for piracy (and noobs I guess), the ones that don't have CDs exist for factions that can't fly 5ks, and for those who wish to fly more defensible ships when trading.
Quote:Minor pirate factions don't have a reason to exist with the pirate ID/Outcasts/Corsairs, but they do
I kinda see this point, but flying for a faction should also be motivated heavily by the faction's lore and one's RP intent....and the more expansive ship permissions and ZOI rules are not something that is constantly limiting you, e.g. whether you are a Rogue gunboat or an Outcast gunboat in California is ultimately the same, whereas making a lower profit from an activity is something that's always "active".

Particularly bad example since the Sleipnir is one of the worst VHFs, far worse than the Wraith, and in general VHFs are supposed to perform differently, but fairly balanced towards each other. That is not the case here at all.
Your analogies are awful, none of these things are remotely comparable to economic balance and even distantly approach a balance problem of the magnitude of "the entire trade system is obsolete".

A hard but accurate statement.
About ore trading; the moment i found out that the best sell prices
are all in at FP 9 i stopped.
