Thank you for the quick and thorough response. I'd read the mining guide and it said "mining ship". Why I was trying the Hegemon. I'll definitely use one that you've suggested.

It's slow mostly cuz it's not fast like some ore, gas etc. That's why some distant and hard to reach bases pay nicely over 10k per a unit.
Corsair freighter Correo has Xeno Relics mining bonus, that's true (in theory). But it's guns can't hit a rock at the same time, reducing drop rate significantly in practice. It gets better with TBH ID, but not enough better. We recently solved it a bit by using civilian freighters that can hit a rock with 4 guns simultaneously. Corsairs in a civ freighter is el pretty bad RP, but what to do...
You can also contact TBH for waking up Manuel, a miner on duty. He sells for 3k, but sometimes he gives Relics for free to help el business. He's also an asshole.
I spent some time playing the single-player, and am only now joining the server. One annoying issue that I've been having only on the server is that often my weapon energy will refuse to charge past around 2 and a half bars or so. Sometimes it works normally, though, so I assume this is not the 'missing powerplant' issue I saw a thread about. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

The only thing I can imagine is that this is happening after you exit cruise. Depending on what ship class you're flying it takes a good few seconds for your energy to start replenishing after you exit cruise speed. For Fighters that should be like 2-3 seconds but for Battleships that can be up to 10 seconds.

I'm flying the Sunburst freighter. I guess I should pay more attention to the timing of when this happens. Maybe that's it.
