Kadesh Orbital City, originally known as Kadesh Orbital Colony, was established in 828 A.S. in Palmyra orbit as a modular station as a temporary shelter for Phoenix Zoners per return from the Great Voyage, but by 830 A.S. it was apparent that the station could no longer handle the increased workload, and the location was favorable for trade and safe enough to invest funds and resources for a larger project. The question of expanding the station became an urgent one, but the off-the-shelf modular offerings on the market did not fit the specific criteria of base needs in the remote world.

Taking advantage of connections with corporations in core worlds, Phoenix acquired the most appropriate station design blueprints known to the Sirius as Zeus type from Deep Space Engineering and finalized the ready-made design together with Daumann Heavy Construction, taking into account its all settlers and corefleet needs. Construction boiled over and multiple transport ships from Rheinland and Gallia began arriving at the construction site to ship all the necessary goods. While the new station was under construction, the old modular station was used as a warehouse and to ensure the safety of the construction site and all defensive-capable ships were stationed at the station to protect it in the vulnerable period.

As of 832 A.S, per finishing off core works and establishing new Kadesh Orbital City, for now it provides like core worlds comfort to its residents and safe environment. Kadesh has become a remarkable spot in a remote region, serving its original purpose for its settlers, acting as freeport for lone strangers and allies and as attraction for tourists all around Sirius and Gallia, serving like a true city-of-paradise in those edge world badlands.

In light of recent events - the siege of the city by the Nomads and their minions and the Freeport 9 crisis caused by the aggressive expansion of the Corsairs serious measures have been taken into account. Earlier homeships were moored to the station and were used as housing modules, now almost the entire population of homeships has descended to the deck of Kadesh Orbital City and each of the Nephilim class ships can be used in open combat. And due to the aggression of the Corsairs and the unhealed wounds from the Gran Canaria annexation and the current situation with Erie, analysts agreed that many Zoners would consider Kadesh Orbital City a safe haven.

Thus the Orontes planet-side colony project was lifted from the archives, as Kadesh was built for a reason, orbiting the planet Palmyra. The planet had previously been scanned for an atmosphere, a core, and various metals in its interior. But due to the high cost of building Kadesh Orbital City as Zeus type, it is not considered as affordable in the foreseeable future at its best.

Notice to space farers: You will be obligated to stay on quarantine for several hours after dock. Your ship and pilot(crew) will be scanned and inspected on the launch pad.

It was me you’ve spoken with. Although the matter of the talk was your ship being allowed to dock on the Kadesh Orbital Colony, you will find Starflier tagged ships allowed to dock since now. Though I have to mention that every ship that’s going to be moored or docked with Kadesh shall be inspected before by our Security department, recently we’ve noted the growing presence of infectees in this region.
