I mean there's no reason the theorise here - GMs obviously looked at past factions and saw the data
and when unlawfuls were able to mine their mining increased and lawful dropped
and people mined on that faction instead of logging other unlawfuls
I am not sure whether I am detecting a certain degree of sarcasm here.........or not.
Farmer's Alliance look at some of the other Unlawfuls and decide that they should be able to mine and have cruisers?
Mollys look at Aux and want to have a large ZOI as them (2 Full Houses, Omicrons, Omegas and a few odds & ends ((not really a big ZOI, honest))?
Brigands look at Maquis and also want Cruisers?
Maquis look at the Red Hessians and want Battleships as well?
Red Hessians look at Corsairs and Outcast and want a) as many mining bonuses as they have b) as big a ZOI as they have?
etc
etc
etc
etc
etc
etc
All in the interest of giving them more things to do - really?
Where does this end?
Anyway, if people want to discuss the disparity in the mining/big ships etc, why not start up a Thread/Threads and lets see what the Community thinks.
'I would like to be half as clever as some people like to believe they are' Life is full of disappointments, it is how we handle them that helps to define us, as a person
I'll join the discussion about Auxesia as a long-time 2iC.
Basically and to put it simply, there is problem of favoritism in the GM and Devteam. Some devs and GMs like the one factions, some other they just ignore. But in case of Auxesia - they despise it. Being one of the most active factions right now for months, A/) might be a thorn in their side they want to get rid off. And oh, they do.
I might look like a paranoid delusional schmuck but hear me out. Years of denied requests for basic things, disregarding by the story team so much that they even 'forgot' to put us in the story development at one point and overall hostility from the GMs and devs. After five years of existence, some questionable things done in the past by old HC (well, at least half of the old HC) and just by mere existence - the development and game masters team together with the vocal minor part of community are basically trying to choke the faction now. Why? Well, because five years ago the faction was formed in some illogical and silly way as a defectors from the Core. There might be some problems with lore, explanations and motives in the faction but those do not justify the treatment we are being given.
I still see and hear that Auxesia is 'cringe', 'knock-off Core' and 'sirius police' from different people, be it a simple veteran player or a game master who decides, are we getting infocard for a planet we have done RP for 5 years. This is both worrisome and annoying. People, who do not care enough to open the infopage or look through roleplay, decide who is getting things and who don't. Those are the same people who failed in managing their own factions and yet they somehow have audacity to slander the faction who despite having the worst possible situation gameplay-wise still has the players interested in playing. And nowadays having players who are interested is something absolutely necessary for the survival of the server. And yet, GMs try to get rid of them. This is straight-up sabotage of the server in my eyes.
My concern are not the specific instances where Aux got declined something or badmouthed just because 'freedom of speech' but this general hostility. 'Auxesia is having too much' is like saying that 'server is over-populated and thus we need to restrain players'. It's not true.
And to those who are saying that 'there is no hostility against Auxesia' then, well.
And whatever. I don't have actual interest in looking up for every single derogatory message by a person with a yellow nickname. Unfortunately, there's no way >we< can improve this situation and every single interaction with the team leaves sense of an annoyance, distrust and disgust to everyone who has something to do with game masters and devs which will eventually lead that even more players will choose to leave the server.

You're looking at it wrong. You're supposed to compare it to the same league, not another league such as a House Military, police, or pirate organisation. So look at IDs like the Order, the Core, AI, Nomads, Intel IDs, etc.
Their activities are mostly not limited to a ZOI, but ours is, barring a demand line+defense, where most can defend allies anyway.

Isn't there one obvious problem with this complaint? The faction - in lore - exists for what? Five years now? It has a pretty decent base and a carrier moving around. Can you really expect significantly more than that from something that's only been in existence for such a short amount of time compared to - essentially - every other faction in the game?
I understand that time passing at a realistic rate - and developments progressing at a rate that matches said passage of time - means that players would leave long before a faction grows significantly. But I consider that* a good thing - we don't have enough developers to give all the vanilla factions (or even all the played vanilla factions) their time in the limelight. Can we really be spending disproportional amounts of time hyper-inflating yet another player-made faction instead?
Quality of life improvements, ID improvements that you deem fair; I can see those sorts of developments. But my guess is that Aux wants to grow to be another Insurgency or something and I feel like the story team likely doesn't want to burn its fingers (again) on that sort of thing right now. Correct me if I'm wrong.
*) Oops. This that refers to "realistic" passage of time. Not players leaving, lol.
