already got it to work
OK great!
the bad thing is once i restart my computer the game is missing ... what am i doing wrong?
That's strange, what directory are you installing both Freelancer and the Discovery mod into?
In addition to what Kauket said above, you may also want to try reinstalling Discovery to somewhere outside of AppData, for example you could install it to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Discovery Freelancer 5.00.8
I imagine it might be to do with it being installed within AppData.

Great to hear! Yes do put in an application for the veteran package if you need help getting started and I'm sure the team can sort you out! Have fun in space.

Error P01: Error occurred while downloading a patch.
This is generally caused by an unstable connection while the game is attempting to patch. If it persists, download the latest patch here.
Also before you do the manual thing, try to check for firewall issues or Antivirus problems that might block downloads.
Norton, Avast, AVG, Avira etc all regularly cause problems.

Tnx for the response, tried multiple times after deleting avg, en turned down Microsoft Defender.
Still won't work.
Don't know which patch do do cause the launcher is not up to date.
the patch that did go through was about 25 MB, next one causes this error.
