With or without Bristol helping hand ? Angel
I just started yesterday and now do it around 10-12min in hegemon. I just probe the face visible to me and collect what's on it. Then burst it and proceed to next asteroid. Due to the dense asteroid field I find it too time consuming to do a full rotation around it most of the time.

At first you'll have to look VERY CLOSELY for fragments, if you look at it model-wise you'll see that the base model has irregular indentations in the spots where blown-off fragments were, fragment locations remain the same for each asteroid type. The more you mine, the more you'll get the feeling for where the fragments are at. I could say it's some sort of a learning process.

Most, if not all the times, that menu does nothing but tell you how many fragments there are (which is already hinted at by an asteroid's total HP pool) and their position according to that asteroid's rotation.

Whilst I'm not a man of statistics, my best time to get myself full was around 7 minutes with Bristol ID.

How the hell do you stay sane with that mining laser sound?!

Anyways I really appreciate the guide. Would love if it got expanded to Heavy Water but also admittedly no one is shipping Deuterium right now so maybe it's okay there is no rush on more mining.

Mining Array uses the same sound file as Hornvipers, and having Hornvipers sound like TIE fighter guns tickles my brain. It's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

I heavily recommend getting floodlights pimpshipped to your miner.

It makes the indentations a lot more visible.

I was going to include that tip originally but it didn't work for me when I tried it in galileo. Still, I'll add it when I bother with updating the tutorial, thanks

Galileo had buoys that mess with lighting. I replaced those buoys for the next patch and Haste is working to make the asteroid indentations clearer to see too. So should be even easier soon.
