the latest update is not compatible with Windows 7 - I suggest you to update to Windows 10 or 11.
this old laptop can't handle that. and i'm not planing buying another soon, since this works fine for all rest i use. so new pc only if this dies!!! no other option? otherwise i will have to leave and lose all! very sad ... i still remember playing this mod on windows xp ... good old 4.85 ...
So far I've only gotten to see the Gamma changes, and I love it! That docking ring was always so out of place, and the upscale makes the system look so much better. And oh my, that surprise when you look behind Crete, fantastic work!

You should look into installing Linux and then following this guide about installing disco on it. You can install Linux Dual Boot on most laptops if you don't want to lose your windows stuff.
Then you'll just need to boot into Linux any time you wanna play disco.
Nobara (a fork of Fedora) is very good for Linux gaming. Along with Lutris (preinstalled), Proton, and WINE, it can install about 80% of games with no issue through a very easy and automated process. The OS also uses considerably less resources than any version of Windows, including 7 or XP. This is just in my experience using it for limited uses of Elite Dangerous and World of Warcraft, I have not tested this distro with Discovery Freelancer.
You also shouldn't be still running those versions of Windows. Mostly due to a lack of security updates as well as leaks of the source code for XP in particular from recent years.
barrier i thank you what you are doing, but looks like this pc is not good enough, looks like it needs one CPU: Intel i5-10400 (12) @ 4.300GHz, and this one can not even get close!!

Have you tried to use the VMWare Workstation and set up a virtual machine in there?
Can you bring the hardware you have in order to better help you in an appropiate way? or try find for you a solution for it
hey
sorry but i don't know what you wrote ... i really i'm dumb about computers! this old toshiba has windows 7 sp1, intel celeron 900 2.2ghz and 2 gb of ram. and that is what i know
i'm the kind of people that uses what they got, and as long it works and does what it is necessary, will not waste hard gained money on new stuff just because it is new, and even when it breaks, first i will look a way to fix it and then i buy something new. that is the way i can have my own car, house, be able to go out to concerts, and don't owe a cent to the bank or someone so unless this breaks and can't fix it, or someone gives me one, i will continue to use this old laptop
