not really. most people that say "oh this rewards sitting still" are dog tier pvpers. you will not see good players any more than you have already sitting still means you get hit (even more now).
the absolute biggest change that has been introduced as of late that genuinely is felt is the addition of 800/900ms guns. everything else is not as drastic as people make it out to be.
Ah ok - what is the change - for then really? Aren't chunkier ships, well...less...fun to play?
The amount of drama people make over a few changes that 90 percent of the community can't even feel (and if you are that good that you can really feel it, it means these changes are made for you) is in my opinion a little bit ridiculous. I bet if they'd silently reverse the changes right now, people would keep on repeating the same mantras over and over again. Perhaps they already did... can you tell the difference? can you really?

I don't play the game. I am simply observing behaviour over many patches and opinions of playtesters and such. The average player's opinion matters, but not like this. Balance devs are not infallible but you guys as a whole need to stop jumping on the hate train day one. Maybe it is shit, but give it a week of actually playing it before saying "wow this sucks ass", because change will almost always feel bad due to the nature of familiarity.
When I say player's opinions don't matter, I mean everyone posting in this thread (including me by extension). Actually play it for a few days in more than a single ship or whatever.
Or don't, no skin off my back.

Please consider the players' opinions before applying large changes affecting everyone—for God's sake!
and special thanks to developers like @Antonio and others who collect players' opinions first, before f'king up their game-play by unilateral forced decisions in the name of balance!!
Just wanna point out that the current playtest vote about mass is 9/13 in favor, 3/13 against, 1/13 indifferent. Arguably also more people did not vote on this due to also being indifferent. Now I don't know how much @Haste bases his opinions on playtests, but people were indeed consulted. If you want to be as well, then join the playtest group.
Well - when the cap big mass and clunkiness and new cores were introduced I did hate it, and hate it still - cap play times have dropped drastically and have never recovered since. They are just less - fun to play, even when people say caps are very strong balance wise.
With snubs my opinion doesn't matter - but isn't it kinda the same thing? Folks say the balance won't change much - but they seem less fun to fly right?

I have to say, seeing yet another instance of a huge hate train on day 1 of a patch's release is inspiring me to actually play the game again just to see if I (a low-level snubber) can even notice any difference at all.
Good job to the balance team for encouraging activity!
Simply throwing out a bullet list of changes that impacts basically everyone isn't going to make the community happy. Especially when people don't know what it even means.
At the very least explain why you made the change and what it's supposed to fix, which scenarios were tested and showed promise and why.
Give some examples to explain why it would help.
Do so for all of the 'new' mechanics such as sub-targeting on caps, armour pen, missile lock on time etc. and now Mass as well.
95% of this community doesn't understand the numbers and what they mean and how to react to them or how to interpret them.
These days I basically have to scan a target, read through a wall of numbers on all their equipment that still don't tell me much since none of these are explained.
Explaining tiny bits in patch notes here and there or a comment in a rant thread about balance is not the way to go about it.
As soon as the thread is quiet no one will read up on it.
If you want to be new player friendly, make this information easy to digest and understandable.
Yes, tutorials and explanations will cost you a lot of time and we all know it's volunteer work.
But you can't just keep shoving changes down someone's throat saying it's for the better but don't explain them why.
If communication towards the community was better, a lot of these changes would perhaps find some more understanding.
Also, please make information about mechanics available in game. Not everyone has the time or drive to search through different threads or discord.

That 90 percent you're mentioning has played snubs a total of 1 hour in a year, the 90 percent that are complaining spent about 5 hours a day flying in snubs and playing the game. I don't know where you're pulling these stats from but clearly you don't know what you're talking about when it comes to snub players and snubs in general.

Balance changes don't affect people that don't play the game, rather people who do and the ones who are affected are clearly not happy with the mass change, as for playtesters I got 3 years of playtesting behind me and usually small tweaks bad or good for whatever was good for the game never bothered me . This one is just bad in all aspects and I don't think anyone wants to spend 5-6 hours of their time playing clunky, wonky, off putting snubs. Oh and as for the matter of opinions, if active players opinions aren't at least taken in to consideration than what exactly are we even doing? Might as well call it quits and shut it all down right?
