I hope everyone saw the second render on page two before making comment on texture, because the first render was rather off, I accidentally used a very inacurate render engine.
as well, remember this is -not- the dunkirk, it is not a bretonian ship of the dunkirk era. Look at the percheron, which seems to be a newer generation of bretonian ship, notice how it uses brighter red.
At this moment the bretonian brown is very sad. It makes me think of an empire getting very rusty. True, Paladin is using this brownish texture, but in the infocard it is mentionned to be a very rare older generation of bretonian fighter.
Ship of the line is supposed to bring some renewal in all this.
gosh, what a mess. ( but thats what "first" impressions are all about )
second glance:
interesting shape - especially the second render. - the model itself is good, but again, a bit too much in the "anime" line of designs ( due to the long extrusions )
now - the ship does not show what appears characteristical for bretonian capial ships..
- its not looking massive ( no problem, just an observation )
- its not really following any known FL designs ( no problem either, just an observation )
the texture is a bit too undetailed, but i m no good at it either, so i cannot really comment on it.
the idea of the 6 sideways turrets is good. - the whole concept is very good, too. - but if the ship wasn t red / white - i wouldn t associate it with bretonia - in so far, i agree with some of the precious posts.
a way to fix that would be to modify it a bit so it looks much more massive - like at least twice or three times as massive / heavy.
edit: i might add that its one of those ships that one might not instantly love at the beginning - but the longer and the more you look at it, the more you see how it grows on you.
I thought it looked more Battlecruiser than Battleship anyway, seeing as we don't have one it could fill the gap. Although it would need some tweaking.
As for the ridges, I honestly think it would look better if you added them over the black lines, there..
And, the colors are great, except for the red, which looks more like a cloth tone than a metal or a gloss..
Textures might need to be shrunken a little bit, too, to make it look bigger.
It looks as if Rheiland, Liberty, and Kusari made this ship as a joint project, it doesn't look like the normal Bretonian Lobster style of ships that they have now.
A start could be making it look more like the established line of ships that they have so far.

You don't like any of the conventions of grammar, spelling, taste or use of the frontal lobes of your brain either, do you? Although with a name like Zork, one can only assume you have a brain made entirely of scrambled egg.
Good thing you aren't flying our wonderful ships. You would be as poor an ambassador for our great nation as a turd in a dinner jacket. Keep your inane dribblings to yourself when it comes to the diligent doings of our engineering egg-heads before I plant my boot in your behind.
i hope your text was in RP... or do youz have any problems with me?
