Yeah. The guy I'm working with on this is now in his senior year at Highschool, so he's a bit busier. In anycase, it was decided that the .utf's which contain the pilots, bar members, etc will stay unchanged. It's just too much of a massive job to undertake, we feel.
One exception will be the Neural Net voice (Female Computer). We've yet to decide a voice for it, but there's a good chance it will be one of my own...
We're on the lookout for .wav compression, in order to trim down the size of the mod. Anyone has any ideas, and we'll give them a go to see if they're viable.
Just letting people know, this is still moving along, albeit slowly.
All that needs doing are the Engine, Explosion/Hull Hits, the Neural Net Voice and a few Misc sounds like the Equipment Dock Gravsleds.
The Music sides of things has been compiled and completed, just experimenting with getting the filesize down from 600mb (!).
Even if I do manage to compress them to a quarter of their current size, we're still looking at close to 200mb, just for the music. As such, we've decided to release the Music as an optional but recommended add on to the Epic Sound Modz.
You can view the Main House Music here.
It will be released no matter the size, as this is more of a personal project for myself and a friend, than an actual mod made for the Freelancer community... But I feel some people will appreciate it in all it's lulz.
I'm looking for half a dozen or so people to Beta test it, make sure I haven't missed anything.
Testing really means no more than activating it when you play FL/Disco, and noting when you hear No sound for something, or a default one.
So give me a shout if you'd like to help out there, but note there's a few people who've already called dibs.:P
Filesize will be marginally large, so if you're on a slow connection or you have a small quota.... Well, I'll leave that to your own discretion.
So... We're over the hill, and you can expect to be able to get your hands on the mod by the end of the month.

EDIT: Ugh, contact me on Skype in regards to testing.
Thanks Dart, I had seen that but it's no good with the W7 Sound Recorder. :<
Anyone wanna test this Bizzatch?
Everything's done but the Explosions and possibly some others here and there.
Must be willing to download a fairly large file. (500mb or more)
