I would love to see more countermussures in ammo load. Like it would be possible to make max 70 missiles and 150 cm's
But it seems this is impossible to make. But anyhow, the cm works, just shoot it then the missiles are quite close to you. It's easy to hear the tracking sound bleeping then the missile is near.
No no no. If anything needs the prices to go up, there are missiles. Like in the vanila freelancer. People will really think twice about spaming 3 of them in one time, then they start spending ~ 30 k a shoot.

Is there no happy medium to be found? It would be cool if we could set it to be more effective than they are, but not uber-effective like you described. I'm not looking to escape every time, but I would like them to function at least half the time.

Ah ... gunboats are problem ... jousting fighter or something with couple of missiles is bad but easy to avoid ... gunboats spam missiles and they track too good and most of time ignore cms...

Somehow I had fights soled gunboats equiped with to missile launcher turrets in a bomber. Anyhow that would be very difficult if the gunboat captains atleast would be avarege ones.
Besdies It almost always works for me then the missiles are going to you from the side or behind. IF yer foolish enought to think that cm will work good in a joust.. well sorry mate aint gonna happen.
CM do not have long lifespawn. Launch only then then the missle ir almost breathing to your back. You can easily recognize it by bleeping interval after you hear the sound "incoming missile".
As for the fighters... e kill and instant manouver trusting from the e kill in sharp angle at the last seconds help a lot too..
