Is it really that bad to take some time out of your day to teach an indie/new player RP conventions?
I'm not saying that the OPG needs to be responsible for indies, but it would be nice if everyone, whether it be Corsairs, Zoners, people passing through, or even Nomad players, take some time to help out people in Gamma.
I can only wonder how Gamma would be if each of us helped out a single new player there...
That wouldnt be a problem if the indies would want to learn. But seems they dont care. Trust me, the indies were tried to be led, but somehow most of the people get tired off it. If you are so good at it, well give a try. I'll just chuckle watching you get pissed.

it would help the general RP of indies if they joined this forum. Before I joined here, I didn't RP, i was just sort of on the server. When I joined the forum, I got exposed to the RP thing and stopped thinking it was completely gay and started doing it.

Heh, same here. However, I didn't think it was "gay" when I started.
In fact, I didn't even know it was an RP server. I didn't even know what RP meant.

i thought it was gay based on the system chats with officers and nomads doing the mind exchange thing. I also thought that the engagement rules were stupid until I played on a more pvp oriented server and saw that people were just sitting outside stations in battleships shooting an endless stream of starfliers.

Errr... I am an indie. I mean, I have about a year or so of time on the server/forums, but I'm still an indie.
Plus, I have helped new players before and they usually turn out good as long as long you're informative to them and treat them nicely.

*laughs*
Ahh well, we all got used to it in the end. I was quite bemused myself when I came here.

That's all there really is to it.
Yeah man. Dont take it personal I belive your good. But Im talkin about unthinking majority of gamma. You may helped a few. But all others upstages the good ones.
And then you try to convince cap indie that flying with preafect into Bretonia isn't Corsairish you get flamed like "Who you are to order around?"
' Wrote:get a grip ajax. Corsair faction leaders were never expected to lead the indies, only to guide them. And thats always being done. If Sirius has issues, they should clean in front of their own porch first. Just because we shy away from Gamma does not mean we're not setting an example
*Cough*
I had thought that elaborating on my thoughts would make things clearer, but perhaps that isn't the case. If not, my apologies. I will try to keep this more compact and thereby hopefully more understandable.
I think you have misunderstood me in your first statement. I never asked you ("you" being used as a general pronoun to indicate official player factions) to lead the indies (much as I hate the term) in the Corsair homeworld, or anywhere else for that matter. There is indeed a difference between playing a leading role and nudging someone in the right direction, which is what I have tried to say prior to this.
I'm afraid I don't understand your metaphor here. Could you elaborate a bit? Maybe then I can better see where you're coming from with this.
Finally, I smell a contradiction here. You have said that most, if not all, of the "bad" players are in Omicron Gamma. If that is the case, how are you managing to set an example for them by avoiding them like the plague? Again, a little clarification would be nice, although I can't say that I expect it immensely. (No offence intended by that, but it seems that I am largely being ignored. Perhaps it is simply that tl;dr is the bane of my [admittedly short] existence here so far.)

If I may, I would direct you to the second paragraph of the post I made prior to this one in this thread. Perhaps I have simply been lucky in my encounters so far, but nothing I've seen has suggested this if you dedicate more than a mere few minutes in their presence before fleeing back to Omega-5 (or wherever it is the OPG is stationed now). Perhaps it has just been too long since you (this time I use "you" to address you specifically) have been in the system.
At any rate, I would dearly like to see the factionized Corsairs spend more time in their home system, which is Gamma in case you've already forgotten. If I seem hostile, I apologize, but I do want my voice to be heard at the very least, if not actually listened to.

*Cought*
Cadiz was always OPG home base. Or I need to give you the link to basic information about OPG?
Uhh. Well feel free to guide all those legates how to become a corsair. Lett the Corsair gods bless your missionary work up there.
