I got an RHA character myself and every time we play in a group it's for a raid against the Corsairs, which is fun but.. there's nearly nil RP going on, which is disappointing.
Now I've played solo a few times and pirated two Daumann miners with some great RP that reflected that these workers send to sweat in the radiation of Omega-11 are the ones we're trying to save. Though the exchanges weren't very grim it showed the tragedy. It was so great that I started a Daumann character myself to be on the other side of it.
So there I was in Omega-11, and there comes the RHA. I look forward to a good exchange about the volksrevolution... but.. I get some crap about mining licenses and miner inspectors. It was very disappointing again.

Maybe I'm just catching the RHA at bad times..
Can't say about the raids, but the hizt were you then.
About the mining inspectors. It's an inside joke. Or was meant to be such. I realised that you really did not have any idea what I was talking about after a while and then dropped the joke. Daumann does not need licenses, they do the mining at their own risk. Sorry if I confused you too much.
In hardcore RP I should have blown you out of the sky, but since always taking the real hardcore stance only leads to Daumann and other miners looking at the chat windows I think it's much more meaningful to talk a bit and see where it goes. I too have had great talks with Daumann miners there, but if you just kill them off or go the regular 2 mil or die, what's the point?
And the talk was cut short because those TBH ships came along. Normally I'm more than happy to talk about the volksrevolution and give a bit of a firebranch speech.
Yesterday before we came to o-11 with Alpha3 (he was in Leopard) we went to Stuttgart to kill one Corsair GB and then to NB bolster up the warchest and did something else than go Gamma raid, so... It's more about you creating roleplay for yourself.
I've said it many times before. The best RP you can get is in either solo or in a small group. Sometimes the huge fleet battle RP is also par excellence, but the best talks are still to be had alone or with couple of buddies. It's a fact of the server no matter what faction. Big groups are ALWAYS geared towards an engagement.
First thing. I once went to Omega-11 to prey on some Miners. A nice fight ensued, and it ended up being four Daumann Miners versus me. The RHA and a few associated indies then undock. This is nice and all. Daumann, RHA? Sounds like a party. I'm relatively unknown, and Daumann is one of the Hessian's greatest enemies.
So, 'eh, not only have you shot me while killing the very mining corporation you hate, but, the RP was literally "Phantom! He's awful! Kill him!" Not only that, but, four fighters decided that it was a better idea to chase off that guy who is killing your enemy instead of killing your enemy. I can understand that I'm in a Praetorian, but, if someone was in a Titan in Stuttgart killing Synth Foods, I'd probably give him the benefit of the doubt and kill the Synth Foods before him. But, that's okay. Moving on.
This evening, I attacked Kruger members. Strangely, an RHA shows up to take me away again. It was a rather astounding coincidence that Red Hessians showed up a second time while I picked on miners in the Omegas. Mark it off on the coincidence list, and here is the conversation:
Now, I have to say, much better RP from this one, and a commendable fight (great fun), but, again, shooting Phantoms...Instead of Kruger, the very mining corporation you spawned from and hate? I'm very confused here. We were rather expecting to be treated cautiously, as your faction status indicates, but, it seems that we're hostile.
I don't mind you shooting us, Virus doesn't mind if you shoot us, and Zelot doesn't care. We just want to know if you're going to shoot Phantoms. That's all on that front.
But, for a personal complaint, it rather seems like personal vendettas and OoRP ties are rather tying into the actions of the RHA. Four fighters chasing a Phantom? It seems like you all just wanted the blue message more than to actually Roleplay with me, especially since I was killing Daumann. A Red Hessian coming to defend Kruger? This really seems to me like someone just wanted to defend his mining spot and return to mining, especially since the other Kruger was online and waiting for something to happen and the other Mining Ship mysteriously disappeared.
That's all a fine indicator of OoRP motivations to me. Really, a bit of soul searching might be in order. I mean, devoting a greater force to a relatively unknown ship than to your devoted enemy (if we're looking at infocards) and attacking a relatively unknown ship for killing another devoted enemy doesn't seem like that great of RP, especially since the overlying purpose of chasing me off both times seems to be to make you more money, but I have been told that the RHA isn't a pirate faction but the actual Army of the Hessians. Just a little consolidation and checkups on the RP of your members would be appreciated.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Well, I'm not sure if they did anything wrong, considering that:
1. The Phantoms kind of shown disdain to the RHA a couple months back by deciding to openly praise Corsairs during a battle in Omega-5, while at the same time insulting RHA forces. High command was informed, and the Phantoms were declared as an ally of the Corsairs. No messages from them followed, so the status is still unfriendly to hostile, and indeed not neutral. Check the RHA faction status.
2. The RHA is both a ideological and a pragmatic faction. Piracy is done for two reasons: to undermine the corporations, and to keep the movement well supplied. Nowhere does it say that the RHA doesn't pirate, it's just that it doesn't do it very often (which is how it is in game), and that it is not its main mission.
Now, the RHA being former miners themselves, why would they let other miners who are being sent by greedy corporate CEOs get killed by some guy in a Praetorian (ship of arguably their biggest enemy at the present moment) flashing the IFF of a faction that has shown and admitted to the RHA that it has dealings with the Corsairs? The point isn't to kill all Kruger and Daumann, it's to hurt those who run those corporations, which means cutting into their pockets. Doesn't mean that the people that they employ need to be executed on the spot. Hence why I see nothing wrong in what happened, and I think it was kind of in RP...
Just not sure what to do about this "miners switching to their RHA when they see foreign pirates in O-11". Technically it's kind of logical that you would attract that kind of attention, as Freital is right next to the mining fields, and it would score brownie points for the Hessians among the "people", as well as get them some funds no doubt. All in all, the Hessians win the most in that case, and they basically control that system anyway so a patrol would stumble upon you. I'm not sure if this switching constitutes metagaming or not, that's up for discussion I guess, but then again I am not sure if it was switching at all in the first place. The first set of screens simply looks like an unfortunate coincidence for you that they happened to undock while you were there. The second set I'm not sure about since it only shows that one of my recruits has very good RP skills, so meh.
Well, you see, what we're confused about is that you shot someone who is listed here:
' Wrote:- Cautious Phantoms "[Phantoms]"
Over someone who is listed here:
' Wrote:-- Hostile Untagged Corsairs, RM, RFP, LSF, Liberty Navy, Republican, Daumann, Kruger, or BHG affiliated
I can understand the fact that I am in a Praetorian, yes, but, does that really constitute that I get shot on the spot? Especially when I am listed here:
' Wrote:- Cautious
Phantoms "[Phantoms]"
When shooting someone listed here:
' Wrote:-- Hostile Untagged Corsairs, RM, RFP, LSF, Liberty Navy, Republican, Daumann, Kruger, or BHG affiliated
This seemingly simple color scheme seems to have a lot of kinks to work out. Like we said before, if you want us hostile, all you have to do is say so, not put us under the guise of being neutral-ish while shooting us all the while. Cautious is not hostile when there is a particular category for hostile. Cautious means use caution. If you plan on shooting us on a daily basis, moving us to the latter section would be appreciated so we don't have any surprises, and if you are an ally of the Miners, switching them to the former section would probably be a good idea, too. It all just seems very backwards that you're defending someone who you have listed as explicitly hostile from someone who isn't explicitly hostile.
Also, no one appears to know anything about this mystery caper who was bashing on Hessians during a fight. If you could give us any clues about this mystery, it would be appreciated. I'm afraid our local sleuth has gotten the Mystery Mobile stuck in the snow somewhere. I don't know if one "member" is necessarily reason to shoot everyone, as well. I mean, anyone can pretty much make a character and run around saying he's a Phantom. If it isn't someone who we know who it is, there really isn't much that anyone can really take from the encounter....
I'm no admin, so I can't prove any switching, but, all I have to say is that it was pretty convenient that Kruger|MS-Konstanz disappeared, with [RHA]Johannes.Claus, manned by a player who does have a Kruger| account (judging by both of your rosters) appeared. I wasn't implying anything about the attack in Omega-11
As to the faction itself, mixed messages seem to have been sent, but, I guess we can just blame a conflict of ingame rumors, the direction that you want to take your faction in, and the justification of daily raids to Gamma in the past. Those things can really mix someone up.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.

So having looked into this some, I find that Kruger|MS-Konstanz IS [RHA]Johannes.Claus, let's just say that this is not good for him. Metagaming like this is not what is expected from a member of two official factions. I strongly expect something to be done about it. This does not reflect well on either [RHA] or Kruger.
I don't care if the RHA want to shoot Phantoms, every one else seems to so it's rather irrelevant. But from a server standpoint, using your pirate to protect your miner is really not kosher.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
EDIT: There is a reason behind what happened, but it's not open to public discussion. If Rev Del wants to discuss the matter i'd love to clear the air here as it seems like i'm in someone's crosshairs lately. But not publicly, through private messages if possible. Thank you!
