One of nice ideas, but I'd prefer one of these - nerfing Kakens to 600/600 or just buffing salas and tizonas up to 700/700.
Somehow every Corsair Ship is better than any BW Ship. if you nerf the Krakens, or buff the Salamankas you'll also have to change the Ships. I dont have a Corsair, but I did have a LN Character for a long time and I never had a problem blowing up the Outcasts. Also nerfing the Guns would create other problems. The Outcasts are everywhere, fight against many different kinds of Factions. You'll have to look at those as well. And no, I dont have an Outcast.

Just restrict Krakens to OC ID or even OC Guard ID.
Its funny best Order weapon nomad cannons are limited to Order, only 2 per ship and class 10.
Krakens can be used almost by everyone who can dock and buy them, class 9 you can mount as many as you can fit on the ship.
Can anyone compare their stats with nomad cannons, those with 4.00 refire. I would like to see that.
Or just restrict Krakens to OC ID atleast.

You guys constantly compare corsairs, let them be. Not only corsair fight OC. I don't know who has Trefoil, but check speed/range/energy/damage per second, Krakens ( speed, range,damage higher then trefoil but still less energy cost) Wut?! 80 energy less, 100 speed more damage is not much higher but still ...
Just restrict them for outcasts and some allies, or you need guard rep to buy them like nomad cannons
Edit: Compare agility of ships, its all balanced except guns. Then we wouldn't have LF and VHF , nerf VHF he have more armor and larger power core. Don't forget agility comes there too, try and kill LF with VHF while LF is not jousting like mad.

@schlurbi what about turning speeds and actual model sizes. The borderworlds line is significantly more compact than the corsair line, and you also left out the most important ships, the VHFs.
@Sead everyone would just use Outcast IDs then. Guard might work, but I doubt it.

Just a note, even with the higher range, no one will use Sunrails. Nearly the same damage as Splitters, and Splitters have 100ms high projectile speed. Boost the Sunrail damage and then maybe some people will use it, those who prefer slow, but heavy-hitting guns. Aside from that, I can't really think of any changes to the Sunrail that would make people use it that wouldn't just make it a 2nd Splitter.

Trust me... the "fire all day" thing is a blessing.
Try flying some Molly ships - then you'll learn about energy conservation.
We have a high DPS, yes, but the fact of the matter is that we can't keep that up very long at all.
You are more blessed than you realise, Corsairs.
But, as a note:
I am also in favour of restricting Faction Class 9s to the faction itself.
Outcasts wouldn't be giving Junkers the "best and newest tachyon cannons the Outcasts have."
And Mollies wouldn't be giving people Trefoils, and Corsairs wouldn't be giving people their Salamanca Mark IIs. Same goes for everyone, I think.
Although that might just be me.
Zoners or Junkers might not be so tight-fisted as others, anyway.
Some factions might not restrict. Could it be a choice of the faction, perhaps?

You need to get the factions to restrict them. And if the player factions don't mind their allies using their weaponry, is it really your place to tell them otherwise?
Personally, I'm a bit in agreement. I don't allow anyone to use GC Suncannons (any, not just level 9s) unless they are GC themselves or have permission.. But that's a player faction choice, not one we should force upon them. Don't want Krak 2s used by other factions, contact the player factions for OC and convince them to start restricting the guns.
Oh I am glad the OP made some camparison to our SkyBlast B's. Krakens are fine don't nerf them, heck don't nerf any fighter gun as fighters vs fighter fights are terribly long and fighter vs bombers even longer (unless jousting ensues). As for the SkyBlast B's; it's not so much that they need to be buffed but more precisely to have the nerf on them removed. The Devs took the original SkyBlast B and dropped it's DPS and raised it's energy consumption to create a gun that is the Sirius equivalent to a straw using paper spit balls.
