' Wrote:They're coming out with the Cylon's side BSG, as well as the earlier days of BSG. Hopefully Caprica will be decent.
They already have, it's a movie. Battlestar Galactica : The Plan or something like it. I watched it, there's not a sheetloada action, but it's how the cylons experienced the whole war/hunt thing. Quite interesting to watch if you liked the series.
Considering it's that time of the year, I just watched 'The Hogfather' on sci fi. I'd recommend it if you like the whole 'serious fairytale' thing.
Currently two episodes deep now, "Human Target is a show by WBTV, DC Comics and McG's Wonderland and based on the DC Comics title. Christopher Chance is the mysterious security-for-hire protecting his clients by becoming the Human target. Christopher Chance is assisted by his business partner Winston and hired gun Guerrero in each job. Chance learns the truth behind his dark past"
So, anyway, I watched 'em both & it's a fun ride so far.
I hear they made an attempt at this show way back in '92 & finished up with a total of 9 episodes w/ Rick Springfield in the title role...I'm glad it failed miserably 'cause it ultimately led to the current rockin' remake we have now.
Yeah, ok, so...after almost a year on DVD, 'Caprica' finally premiered last week here in the states & honestly, until I got off my ass last month & watched the pilot, I had no desire to watch this show...I was under the impression that it was geared to the teenage audience & basicly akin to something like Galactica 90210....however, after watching it, I should have trusted that the writers are not that mind-bogglingly stupid & wouldn't bother to 'dumb it down' for the teens.
Caprica, so far after a couple hours, proves to be pretty damn compelling within its own arena. If you like Galactica, you'll like this...if you don't like Galactica, then you'll have to rewatch it again when you're older & can appreciate an epic adult storyline.
Being American means that it's sometimes difficult to get exposure to some damn good out of market TV unless it's picked up by PBS or BBCAmerica, & let's face it, BBC-A for the most part stinks on ice unless you're into gardening or reality shows...& unless you're lucky enough to live in my viewing area, PBS most everywhere else dosen't have the budget to lease the viewing rights to alot of the good stuff. (not to mention that the US censors have a habit of disallowing alot of the stuff I tend to adore)
Anyhoo, in no particular order, here's a very cheap & slutty short list of what I consider 'must see, but can't see' for all us so-called "ignant yanks"
Hannah is more than she appears to be in Secret Diary of a Call Girl . Hannah is also Belle, one of the top high class call girls in the city of London. Hannah and Belle have the same common goal; to make as much money as possible while they still can. This show was originally shown by ITV2
This one I noticed airing after "Dexter" well over a year ago on Showtime here in the states & thought it was worth checking out 'cause it had Billie Piper from "Doctor Who" I liked it well enough for season one, but I only started to really get into it by season two...I'm still catching up on season three, but I'm already hooked for the long haul:)
Ever wondered what superheroes get up to when they're not saving the world? Well fear not - No Heroics is here to explain all. This six-part series follows the surprisingly ordinary lives of five unlikely British superheroes who spend their free time commiserating their lack of superiority and More complaining about those more successful than them
This one is just a one-shot series that although not mind blowing, is just good cheesy fun & worth watching for the complete absurdity of it all...I effin' loved it, although I may decide to deny that fact later on in the future. Just know that if I do end up eventually calling it crap, please understand that I will be lying through my teeth.
Set in the present day, this BBC drama follows the survivors of a devastating virus which has killed most of the world's population. The show is a remake of the 1970s BBC drama series of the same name , based on the novel by Terry Nation. Watch as they do their best to survive, in what is now More a dangerous and isolated world.
Now! this one I'm truly impressed with & absolutely love the few episodes I've seen so far...but hey, I'm a romantic at heart & I unconditionally love post-apocalyptic chaotic drama in all its forms
Don't even get me started on the bi-annual craptacular oly-stinkfest bandwagon with the worthless sports that people only pretend to care about simply because it's overhyped & televised:nono: It always screws with my viewing schedule & I hate 'em for that.
...it is my world everyone else lives in after all... & both the winter & summer Olympics is a creation of my subconscious mind bent on torturing the part of my psyche that the rest of you live in & tend to consider "reality"
::edit- V- effin' love the remake on multiple levels even if I wasn't already a fan from 'back in the day':)...& "Lost?"...I'll never apologize for loving everything about that show:cool:::
Sitcom which follows the sex-fuelled lives of five early twentysomethings in the northern town of Runcorn, Manchester. Janet is going out with Jonny, his best friend Gaz has started to date Janet's best friend Donna, and student Louise just adds to the weird chaos with her annoying squeaky voice.… More Storylines follow the on/off relationships of the young protagonists who get themselves into the weirdest situations.
This one Hoodlum clued me in on months & months ago while yapping with him one day in the Admin Chat. Look at it this way: If "Coupling" is "Friends" if Friends tried to attempt even an ounce of true wit, then "Two Pints" is Coupling containing realistic personality archetypes that actually exist & that I personally still hang with to this day.
::edit- Indecently, if any of you Australian Anslags can help me out & remind me of the name of a show I've only seen a few episodes of but really liked, I'd appreciate it & will even be willing to /givecash of 2M for the info...It's a series that centers around a group of people that work in an observatory. (by the way: for the record, I use the term "Anslag" in the most positive way & mean it only as a term of endearment...I swear!)::
