They are fulfilling part of their responsibility regarding Faction Right 5. They way they do it ensures the highest chance that if the person they are wishing to interact with uses the forums, they will see the thread regarding their character. It takes all of 2 seconds to scroll past the threads and click page 2; quit whining.
' Wrote:Actually it hurts. Why do I need to suggest them something and find a replacement to this absurb way of "noticing". Also, there's a 'mail' feature in-game. Try using that if RFP really wants a replacement --- just don't flood the communication channel with useless threads.
... and so on.
Also, they DON'T do it rarely. Maybe they make so many of these notices rarely, but they post these "read this link" messages almost daily.
And why do I have to ignore them on the board to mask their threads? Why can't they find a solution and avoid the spam?
I bet there are other ways to do this spam somewhere else or in-game --- if they just sat a little and think better.
Because:
1) It's easy to criticize without suggesting something.
2) What you consider spam or useless topics are not considered like that by most of the community, which brings us to the point that you are the one who have a problem with that way of handling things, but that doesn't make your point of view the right one, nor those comms "spam".
When i am on my RM char, and i see someone who is in the Criminal Database, i send him a PM and ask him if he knows, in case, how he can fix it, and point him out to the forum. Using mails in game via flhook woudn't work in the same way imho.
I also have to point out that the tone you are using is highly disturbing, perhaps the people who thought about this way of dealing with people didn't come up with the best idea, but surely you are not giving them a better one. So now enlight us with your superior brain, think better too and came up with a better idea.
Put all in the same topic in your faction subforum
no spam
it is better seen there since the comm channel moves forward with 4-5 pages per day
profit for all??

If I remember right, people started to whine, when the RCDB was administered by the RM, there was no "spam", they got FR5 and complained, why there was no message, why; and so on.
Now everybody is contacted and the complains start again.
Back in the past people complained more about being FR5ed by some usual bystanders such and freelancers and simular on behalf on RM , and people complained because they were not able to find where you inform them about the FR5, it was again in the comm channel but single topic, comm channel is cool but people cannot check it 24/7 so the new faction sub-forums are more cool, if you have one pinned topic there and you add all FR5/fined people there after a while people will know where to look, see the LH diplomatic channel for example. Flooding the comm channel makes it even harder to use, it is hard enough now.

???
Profit.
That's a good solution and maybe the best so far.

You see, I don't really know how to operate the PC, can you make my life easier and get rid of those useless threads instead?
No I was only joking when I said I don't know how to operate my PC, but I don't really find any use for those threads and they incredibly annoy me and perhaps others too.

1) Ugh, you've been reading the whole thread? There have been already some suggestions made and they are all good options to get rid of those notices? Mkay?
2) My point of view is that RM/RFP can make these notices without bothering to fill a page of communcation channel, mkay?
3) What you make there is pretty ooRP, don't you think? Why don't you try to talk with his character using roleplay instead of "go read the forums, you have been fined. i either kill you or you pay the fine". That's... weird... don't you believe?

As much as there have been indeed some ideas written by other people, i was interested in knowing your ideas about it.
As for point 3), i thought it's obvious that i will first talk to him in roleplay, and depending on the result (and the fact he knows or not about it), decide what kind of communication to use at a certain point.
