I posted only one, but seeing that the thread is now a ranking, i'll post my list:

1. StarControl 2
2. Freelancer
3. Starcraft
4. X-Wing
5. Halo
6. Need 4 Speed: High stakes

Those are the only games I would have paid for, as I think that 90% of the games nowadays are not worth the money.

Also, remember that its best games ever, aka, from all times. Not only current titles.

  1. Task Force (Apple IIGS)
  2. Earthsiege 2
  3. Contra (NES)
  4. Ninja Gaiden (NES)
  5. Fallout 2
These are just the games that I loved as a kid (or as a much younger kid than I am now). I used to play Task Force when I was only 5 years old! Newer games usually just seem to be recycled crap. I guess that's why I like Freelancer so much-- there's hardly any other games out there that compare.

EDIT: I forgot about Sid Meier's Pirates which is pretty rad too. YARRR!

My first addiction...(this would be about 13 years ago)

Escape Velocity - only for mac... basically 2D birds eye veiw freelancer with better missions. you could join a race/faction and do missions for them and gain ranks etc.

when you got a better ship you could attempt to demand tribute from planets or stations... fight off many waves of enemy fighters then they would give you money every day....

aaah...

the only reason i got into FL is because it reminded me of that xD

Ah, back to the years when I was a little child...

I loved playing Super Mario World and it's "sequel" Yoshi's Island. Those are my all-time favourite, but generally most of my favourite games are Jump'n'Run.

Basically, I love all Jump'n'Run games, but some of them are easy, have horrible gameplay or are too short that I don't bother playing.
