Any freighter can be a danger for enemy. There are no bad ships, but can be weaknesses pilots.

It turns fairly slow, not all guns are front facing but if you go full deb and MR it is brutal pirate/support ship.
It can almost shoot 5-6 MR before it goes out of energy. And it looks ugly green but it is big target too.
Since I have tried almost all freighters I would go with Grizzly or Correo or CSF- the 3 of them are the best freighters for attacking stuff- Camara is the best for running. X- shuttle is brutal good for piracy in groups as shield-buster and occasional hull dmg with the razor- it is the only torpedo loaded freighter. I haven't tried the gallic and the molly freighter- I will definitely try the molly one.

X-shuttle is a power to be dealt with. Even without MR.
I pop`d a lot of snubs in it, and once or twice - Camara.

Well sorry but you have no chance with X shuttle vs fighter or bomber 1 v 1 if he is adequate pilot- he would pwn you from behind without any lube or mine trap you because it turns slow and it has slow response, but put full Debs and MR and use it as support ship in group of other ships trying to avoid being target- nightmare - it can spam Razors like there is no tomorrow/Recycler Style, however it had a way too little bots and bats in order to hurt anything 1v1.
The civilian freighter- I met one well flown with cap8 and purple goddess turrets- it is tiny and really really hard to kill, it got also boost compared with its 4.85 MkI version.
Around a year and half we made small sisterhood with pirating nuns in freighters with some of the famous faces around- we tried all possible freighters in all possible combos in short time, so I got ton of experience with this ship.

Well, not gonna go into 1 on 1 details here, but as far as freighters go I simply cannot express enough love for the civi Anki and the old Bactrian.

Taking Correo aside, that is.

Correo is indeed kinda bad right now- mainly because of the corsair mega gun nerf and its class 1 slots- it cannot mount decent pulse guns - corsair pulse guns got nerfed with around 20% DPS and the corsair hullbusters take more energy now.

Most people I encounter underestimate my GMG Garanchou Freighter.

A profile nearly as sleek as the Camara, with faster turn rate. Two debs and 4 Class 2 turrets, and I can just keep on firing.

If it is small I can fight it, and if its too big I can outrun it. And for everyone else it turns heads as I fly past!

And how Clydescale stands when it come to combat?

On wiki, the review by Cyber Dragon looks like it don't stand a chance against medium skilled pilot.

On the other hand, i have read a lot of posts, where clydescale was shown as the best or at least one of the best combat freighters ingame.

So how it really is?
