Brother brought it home all exited about it and stuff.

Tried it two years later.

Got hooked on SP, ended up logging about 200 hours in it

Quit for a few years

Though I should play it again.

Decided to get a mod, and tried void first.

(barf)

Saw disco and used it

Hooked ever since

I got the game from a friend,he sold it to me:D

Then half year of SP,and then i search the web seeking a nice community.Found a link to Disco,i thin it was in Lancer's reactor.
Disco was a veary small comunity back then, but kept rising up.
So it was my first and last FL mod.
I dont play for quite a time now,but the DiscoveryGC is still the best place for me.

well... it was about 5 Years ago... My friend recomended me this game - as great adventure and option of thousands options...

First I was not amused - becouse I never like much a space shooters or space ships simulators.
But one day when I was boring I install the game.

And I do not regret it... It is Awesome! that grafic and gameplay... and the storyline...
First I play only in orginal version - and I finish several times, but Single Player was quite boring after finish a main story.

So I left the game... but two Years later, when I watched Cowboy Bebop, I want to play again... So I instal the game, but after a finish the main story I decided to look out for some extra quests - while digging in the web I find info that one mod add Spike Fighter - so i dig some more about Freelancer mods and addons...

and thats I find the Discovery! first I play in some Australia Server - but becouse the lags I was forced to change the server, I play for a while in Berlin, USA and Discovery of Discovery - and finnaly I end in Discovery RP 24/7....
I fly with You guys over a 1,5 or even 2 years (with some breaks) and I enjoy the stay here...

Got the demo on a games magazine DVD around February/March '03, played it for maybe 50 hours. When the game was released, I couldn't afford it, but I could in May '03. Bought it, started the campaign at 7 PM, finished it 6 AM. It was the first day of some school holidays... of course I did little else with them. Never had Internet access on my own computer until August '09 and started playing online the same week.

I don't remember how i came aware about freelancer for the 1st time. Most likely it was somebody from ~700-PCs LAN i was part of back then. We had amazing newsgroup back then, in which practically any significant event (and by far not only in gaming world) was tagged for users to know about.

We even had optical fiber networks in our top level back then, starting from 1998, and it was SO darn fast. Well, actually i bet it still is oh so fast, it's just that i'm not living in that area anymore.

Do you see the groundhog there? No? Me neither. But, it's there nonetheless.

I dont remenber when... but I donwloaded a demo and liked, so I bought the game and played a lot, always giving a break and returning back. I think for a 2003 game it gives you lots of options. Than I found the discovery mod, it's enchanced the game 500%, it's quite the same of play a mmorpg, because of the variety of characters we all have, and without all that grind that I hate, here you depends mostly on your personal skills, you fly and kill because you are good and not because of your ship or xp points.
And the best aspect the RP is great, peple really knows what is happening around sirius and behave like his character was a real person, I mean in general they do what a real person would do in determinated situation.
To be honest I have no idea how I found the mod, it was pure luck, thanks god for that *smile*.
