Yes, it is a problem. We really dont need more systems in total, than vanilla had have.
They were made and added, because of making the mod more interesting, and in this way they work. But, of course, 200 players would fit nicely into only 25 systems or so. It is logical nonsense, to have >150 systems, but only 200 players.
The only solution to solve this logigal problem, is to rewrite some areas, and merge systems, that are only visited for mapping purposes and buying equipment.

i was thinking of that too
there are too many guard systems and independet/edge/edge of houses/nomad systems for nothing only to pass trough them to get to dublin, ny...
whay can't for example ln,lpi,lsf share one guard system?
you can put one jump gate/hole to that system and for evry fraction one or two bases with lot of equipment
galia is unnessesary to me and it looks nonfreelancer, evrything is wierd and overloaded with objects

The reason why there is one system per faction is that a character in Gallia can pm you and ask what is LPI tagged ship doing in LN guard system.

And get rid of empty ones.
There are WAY too many systems for the current player limit, and many are uneeded and empty
