She impatiently checked the time again. Realising that she was reasonably early for the briefing. Noting those that had already turned up, she said a brief thanks to the Creator for their early arrival.
"Perhaps, however I should not be so quick to talk." She laughed sweetly.
She briefly started to check through Pergesin's records but then decided against it. She knew everything she had needed to know about him. He had trained with her when she was thrown head first into the brutal 154th regiment's training regime. Isabel had seen him in pilot simulations. She was happy to see him if truth be told, a familiar face on her first true command.
"It has been a long time Isabel." now in all seriousness.
Only few made 154th training regime. It required not only strong physical condition but also a mental one. When he saw her first time he gave her 2 days till she falls of. He was terribly wrong and Isabel made it as one of the best. He couldn't believe what what her body was capable. That was almost 6 months ago.
"You have right to punch me." he smiled and hugged her
"Yes," Isabel said embracing her friend. "You got promoted also. Maybe not as high as me. I was a bit of a special case though." Her voice trailed off at the memory of her Ascension.
Releasing her embrace, she back off and straightened her now slightly crumpled clothing.
"Stick with me and we'll see if you can get yourself promoted some more."
The Sierra squadron looked at the two hugging and Collins thought to himself "The hell?" he shruged it off and just stood there thinking and wondering he mumbled to himself "Wheres the Overlord already, I'm being impatient" Weber whispered "Patience Marshall, he'll probably be here soon..." Collins shruged again and sighted loudly...
Troy Jerolin turned the corner, rushing past a glass door way. He wore a white shirt covered over by a long grey flight jacket that hung from his shoulders as if it was too big, which it was. Baggy black pants flopped around as he ran, rushing down hallway to hallway, till he got to a staircase. He sighed with relief upon seeing them, and opened the door to go up.
+I hope you know you know you passed many quicker routes, Troy+A voice said in his mind. He paused as held the door open.
+I don't like elevators or platform risers, you should know that by now, Inuctum+ He snapped, and continued to leap up the stairs. Sadly, Inuctum did know this, though found it odd how he could hurdle past rocks and asteroids in space, but didn't trust simple mechanisms. It thought of the pointless argument they could have about it, but instead slipped though the closing door Troy just went through. Inuctum was using a Sentric chassis, a floating orb around the size of a human head, the "front" section missing a second, and the gap filled with a holographic data stream, which also served to be optical sensors.
At the top of the stairs, he was about to start his run again.
+You do not have to rush, it is still early yet.+ It said again, casually floating up the last of the stairs and joining Troy as he stopped again. He checked his own time, and found he was actually just making a big deal out of this. He looked at Inuctum and smiled, and walked down the hallway, it floating beside him at shoulder height.
+Do you know what this is about? I missed the message while checking in the Sabre.+
+I do not. I was processing the databanks we logged and uploaded the latest navigational units before you told me we had to go.+
+Guess we get to find out.+ He said, getting to the meeting room. The door opened, and he stepped though.
Collins looked up to the door as yet another soldier showed up, but this particular one had a strange companion, he looked at the orb with a slightly risen eyebrow then shrugged it off as he does everything else and said "Come right on in.." the man at the door nodded and walked in, knowing Weber, Collins was suprised he kept his mouth shut this long, then just as he felt relieved Weber opened his mouth, but Collins shut him up before he could say anything stupid as usual, everyone turned their heads to see what was that noise but just like Collins they just wanted to get this over with and shrugged it off...
Edward Bartholomew Zhane, born on Manhattan, son to Stephen Zhane and Rosanne Zhane, he walked with confidence trough the hallways towards the meeting room..
He had made an stop by the I&C (Informations and Command), took the data disks needed to do the proper presentation for the others when he had to.
In a holster under his coat, there was his plasma pistol, a 3/F EDF standard issue sidearm, with a infra red scope with extra long clip, extended to 20 instead of the normal 10, he felt over the coat where it was.. He knew he had no use for it at the moment, but it made him feel safer..
Paranoid, not really..
Cautious, very much so.
Outside the meeting room, two 154th regiment soldiers stood in attention, he waved them to follow and he entered the room.
As he entered he held his hand up to silence everyone..
Isabel stood as Zhane entered the room. Smiling she bowed deeply. His inspiring presence filled the room with both respect and fear. It had been a month since Isabel had seen him last. During his time spent deep within the confines of the Corpois facilities, time spent away from prying eyes, Isabel was one of the few people allowed to see and contact him,.
A privilege she did not use. The Overlord had his reasons for not wanting to be contacted and she was not about to distrupt those reasons purely because she had missed him.
"Overlord Zhane. Your loyal soldiers have missed you and we are ready to serve."
The Sierra squadron looked upon the Overlord and bowed then saluted and stood in attention, Collins thought to himself "Finally, hes here and I also see him in person for the first time...must be something very important.."
He looked at Isabel and nodded, afterwards he saluted the room..
"Alright.. There are things you do not know and things you do.."
He started to observe the people and their attitudes towards this situation..
"The 'Scorn' as our elders call them.. Are nothing but drones.. They work as a hive mind and that is why they are so much more effective in combat then we are.. That and they use brute force as superior technology.. And NO! That is not a contradiction, not anymore.."
He sighed and then looked over the people again..
"That's why im Bringing in the LEGION project.. And I know not all of you know the specifics, but that doesn't matter.. "
He nodded at one of the 154th and he in turn left the room..
"I need you in here to go to Eradanis and act as fleet commanders and captains of the fleet there.. The only support you will have is the LEGION project.. The rest of the EDF fleet is to stay here.. We can not spare any ships at this time.."
