The bases are somehow buggy- I saw one burning and dieing with 3 hit with GMG banana guns on lvl 1 banana tuttet mounted on Kujira.. I killed it by mistake just wanted to check if the base have shield.
So I would say more testing would be needed, it is sad for the people wasted a lot of efford to build base.

' Wrote:The only thing I can think of that has enough power to snipe a base between shield reactivations that quick, is a GRN Valor's front cannon (since it does an idiotic amount of damage in one shot - and will potentially need to be dropped to down to heavy mortar levels as a result of this).
Not to mention, a GRN ship destroying a Solar operated base, followed by an anti-Sirian declaration of the Maquis... is wrong in at least 3 ways.
GRN FG is fine, the only thing that makes this ship with absolutely horrible hardpoint locations and spread (especially lvl8 slots) being "something special". If you downgrade it to HM status, it'd be better to remove it at all and give Valor a Redemption's heavy slots capabilities - i.e. 5 heavies shooting sideways, so the GRN won't end up with inferior tech again, like it's with cruiser. (4% more hull on GRN cruiser vs 21% better angular turning speed on Council one...)
On teh topic - single Valor is not able to break through shielded base that has enough supplies for repairs.
Hell, THIS "V" was NOT able to get through 13th| base in Edinburgh, yesterday.
Just because base was repairing itself faster then it was damaged (it was fixing up to 15% of it's health in 5-6 minutes)
GRN and Council cruiser are both getting some balance tweaks, so you're covered there. I'm told Brimstone had plenty of repair supplies, as well as enough crew/oxy/water/food, and energy to run it's shield. Secondhand info though, as I don't manage that base.
If the Valor can't wittle it down between shield resets, then that leaves the conclusion that another method was used to bring the base down: Either one that sends damage through the shield (which would be a bug) or one that does more instantaneous damage then the Valor's front cannon (which suggests a cheat in play as the Valor's forward gun is the heaviest damaging weapon in Disco).

Sure. Nerf Valor more not that it's not nerfed already and it's hardpoints are placed whitout any fights in it.
Stop nerfing ships because people are abusing them. Start banning people who abuse such ships.

1) [KNF] sieged a base for about 7 hours until it was finally down. And we did that with -a lot- of ships. We had to fend off defenders multiple times when they used various ships - from trying to suicide supply it, to an Outcast bomber swarm, and in the between combined attack by K'hara cruiser and Outcast cruiser.
Any base with supplies can stand more than 2 hours.
2) Just so you know that 5,000 units of BA can repair 200 million hull points. Yeah, that much. Given the fact that the base repair rather quickly any well supplied base, even level 1, can stand a siege for long time.
EDIT on (2):
That's with only 1 type of commodity to repair the base by the way. If you have 3 types, the base is about immortal.
3) I am sorry, but either that the second attack on Brimestone was done with abused bug, or it was simply not supplied. I tend to go for option number 2, given the fact that it was stated that the base hull was dropping rather slowly, and it took 2 hours to take it down. A bug would take much much less.
EDIT on (3): If the Valor had a way to bypass the shields, it would tear the base apart in minutes, even if it had all types of commodities and enough to heal 90 billion of HP. Valor DPS is simply larger than the repair's, but with shields - No way.

Stop using the nerf bat, use the banhammer
As I said, the chances it's a bug are more than slim, they are nearly none-existant. With a bug he wouldn't be sieging it for 2 hours. Maybe 15 minutes. A base with core level 2, supplied with 3 commodities types heals 240,000 hull per 10 seconds, that's 24,000 hull per second which is much lower than a Valor's DPS even if it fires -only- the forward gun. Couldn't be a bug - the base was simply out of repairs.
EDIT: Valor FG is doing 65,000 hull per second of damage with the forward gun firing only. That's nearly 3 times more than the base repair rate. Without shield a Valor would rip apart base within minutes. 8 minutes to be exact.

Can I borrow it?
Also the idea that the base would keep lowering its shield while under prolonged assault is silly. Really, it should be up all the time while it has fuel and the fuel drain should be balanced for 24/7 use. The key to killing a base should be in blockading its supply, not in abusing mechanics in the wee hours of the morning. That's being a troll.
This base had enough to repair about 15%. That's about 1.8m It was NOT overstocked. The base ran out rather quickly. Must of been attacked by someone before me.
Also, just so you know, you can fire more than one weapon. If you time your attacks right, you can get in a few missiles.
