I would like to know how we can stop Independents from owning faction equipment, When I mean stop I mean prevent to such a degree that I'€™m not running into it every single day!
Having a faction ID, Faction Technology and IFF, and claiming they are not part of that faction is completely unacceptable. This is got to stop. I play by the rules, take the 25% nerf and deal with it. I have an established relationship as a freelancer with a faction that is documented and roleplayed reasonably and with limits. It'€™s the price I willingly pay for being a Freelancer working with a faction and its technologies. I play my part in that faction and don'€™t going pirate just for the heck of it.

It is no fair in any regard that an independent, claiming no allegiances to a faction can have a fully loaded ship with the tech from that faction, can fly around like a tricked out pirate WITH their ID. There are no responsibilities of that faction to reprimand the actions of that player and no Roleplay recourse to address anyone to stop that player from playing fair. There are no sanctions to address this problem and -FOR EXAMPLE- Hessian faction wont take actions against a Hessian/freelancing/pirate who is disrupting Rheinland/IMG/whoever, shipping and mining when these Pirates ARE NOT Hessians! This is NOT a slam on the Hessians, its on the people who have their ID, their Tech, their Ships, and are NOT Hessians. If a player wants to address that player, then all the player has to do is change a name, get a few friends in that faction to make some crap up, and all the sudden, its ok for an independent to own and use a full faction tech and not suffer any consequences of using that faction tech.
I'€™m tired of it.

It is no fair that players who are Generic Pirates can have full access to a faction tech and ID and NOT be that faction. Its simply a way to avoid the tech Nerf. It has no basis in Roleplay.

Im also sure factions are getting tired of responding to endless threads about their crap being used in their name and they have no clue or its honestly not their fault. The Independent gets away with it, name changes, ship changes, and does it all over again.

If you are not a Hessian, you cannot have Hessian Tech, the ID, the guns, and the everything else, then say I'€™M not a Hessian, I'€™m a pirate. That'€™s flat out crap. Get the Pirate ID take the Nerf and play the game like it should ok?

This should go the same for people who use IMG tech/ships/ID. Kruger ID/Tags, RM tech/ships/id BH ID/Tech/ships, Corsair tech/ships/id Gallic tech/ships/id and on and on.

Pick a faction and be loyal to it. If you want to be an independent pirate, get an indy ships and tech. If you'€™re hard up and need faction tech then JOIN the faction or get their tech, get a pirate /freelacer ID and Take the Nerf.

If I address the faction and they have no flipping clue who you are or deny your existence then you should NOT have their crap. If you insist on having their tech then take a non faction ID and take a nerf.

If you are part of some super secret uber ultra elite sect of that faction, make a believable Roleplay that makes sense. Get the established faction'€™s permission to exist and tag all your ships. This is so issues can be addressed to YOUR sect and not the whole faction.

If you'€™re a pirate that is sleeping with a foreign factions family, you are Still NOT that faction. You'€™re a flipping independent using their crap, with their blessings but you are NOT that faction. Get a pirate/freelancer ID and take the nerf!

Answers like: '€œWho are you to tell me how to Roleplay blablabla'€
'€œWhat you ask cannot be done! It makes us responsible! How dare you!'€
'€œThere are SO many that do this, what you ask cannot be done'€
'€œI like snowcones, therefore I deserve this tech.'€

Should refrain from wasting my time and answering here.
This has got to be controlled better.

At the end of the day, they're here to have fun and so I am. If you're giving yourself a hernia over this, you're not having fun.

Let the technerf system do it's job. Independents are independent for a reason. Leave them be. How'd you feel if I repeatedly screamed at you, "A FREELANCER? ENFORCING RHIENLAND'S LAWS?! JOINRFP, JOINRFP, JOINRFP"?

You mean people don't follow that rule (?):

6.9 You must follow the restrictions/allowances of your ID, as well as the diplomacy of the NPC faction it
represents. If your ID does not represent an NPC faction (generic IDs), then your reputation and conduct
must match the actions of your character. You must not dock at bases that your NPC faction is hostile to, or
attack allies of your NPC faction.

And proper action now is to tell every player on the forums? Or did I oversee something?

There is a chat for lolwuts on another thread Zeb if you want to start being one, go there.

Aside from your snide comment, yes. I'm running into players who use the Faction ID on Faction Tech to avoid the Tech nerf but have no alliance/relation with the faction or claim to be in that faction. They freely act with faction technology and when the faction is addressed they are written off as an independent or rouge. When the real faction players log on and pvp, they appear out of nowhere, fight along side them as long time friends one day then go pirate "we're not that faction." the next. The process is done and redone with a name change.

If they are not part of the faction and have no ties/relations/responsibility to that faction, they should get a generic ID or better yet, get rid of the tech. If they want the tech with no nerf, they need to be an official Faction member with all the wonders the 6.9 rule says.

You conveniently forgot the part where it says FREELANCER

Not Hessian, Corsair, Gallic, Rheinland Military, Kruger, IMG, etc.

Try again.

They're obliged to follow their faction's lore when flying that ship, then. If they don't, then they're open for a sanction from the aforementioned rule. If it's not bad enough to warrant that, stop getting your knickers in a twist.

I thought it was rather funny though.

Spire im tempted to make the most obscure character ever to see how you would react. that being said, you need to stop thinking of faction officals as the core faction. the NPC faction was set long before the offical one, and thus the offical follow the NPC faction.

Just because you paid credits for a tag and a forum spot does not mean you get to boss around people because they dont do exactly what you think they should. M

Man up dude. Your whole rant comes across as a little kid who lost on call of duty. For the record most indies that get written off as renegade do such because the admins for some reason refuse to process fr5's on same-tag indies, so its the only thing they CAN do.

so how about instead of whining and acting like a child you instead offer solutions instead of just critisisim, because so far you have done nothing to suggest a feasible fix.

Whilst Id like to remove indies (and this is coming from an almost exclusive indie player) theres a lot (too much to go into here) that would need to be done to balance that out.

ATM based on my reasearch:

Whats good about indies

Whats bad about indies

I'd hve to say that they are the "lesser of two evils" that is feasible with the current discovery setup.
