I did wonder what that fella doing doing there. Also, hurry up and FR5 my Clydesdale. :P

Seems you not.
My character docked with FP 1
Transmission goes to inhabitants of FP 1
I fail to see any meta/power gaming. It happened.
You got a problems understanding this?
I just read through everything here, and I agree with Jinx. If it was someone respected in the community like Doc, I don't think we'd see the same furor at all, because there IS a double standard out there. (For that matter, we of the BHG| still don't really trust Cam on FP11 or the boys in O-74 because we know damn good and well that Zoner 'neutrality' doesn't really exist, per se.)
As far the actual commodities involved - Blood Diamonds by and of themselves are NOT contraband in Bretonian space. Remember, there is an official Omega-3 / Omega-7 treaty between Bretonia and Rheinland. Here's the fun part of that treaty:
Quote:The entering vessels will not be parts of a Rheinland intelligence gathering organization, such as the Rheinland Marinenachrichtendienst, unless permitted by the Armed Forces High Command, Director of the Bretonian Intelligence Service, or Bretonian Government.
So when the BDM pilot entered Omega-3, he was violating the terms of the treaty between Rhienland and Bretonia. That is a caus belli act of war by Rheinland against Bretonia.
So who exactly is blowing this out of proportion? The Zoners out to get Dakun, or the people that don't quite realize that Rheinland just declared war on Bretonia by their RP actions?
EDIT: Note also that it is only against Rheinland law to ship Blood Diamonds IN Rheinland space. Omega 3 is not Rheinland space. Unless someone was in hot pursuit of a smuggler going from Omega 7 into Omega 3, the RM does NOT have ANY authority in Omega 3 regarding smuggled items. Period. And the BDM pilot entering Omega 3 should be put up against the wall and shot, for violating the treaty.
EDIT 2: Seriously, you guys that are roleplaying as members of the military ought to, I don't know, maybe actually READ the laws of your houses. Seriously, from what I'm reading here I'm seeing so many law violations by these supposed military members, I suspect that YOU have no clue how to role-play as a responsible member of a military organization.
EDIT 3: Dab, please point out just exactly where in Bretonia law it is that Blood Diamonds are illegal in Bretonia. They certainly are not listed as contraband or illegal on the Bretonian law page.
Edit 4: Cardi, Artifacts, Counterfeit Software, Slaves are the ONLY things listed as Contraband. Syth MJ, Nomad stuff, War Material, and stuff going into the Taus are limited Contraband. Dab, I think your BAF Commander Hunter has overstepped her authority and needs to rescind things - or I'll start RP'ing as an attorney and tie you up in knots and lawsuits.

Lol.
War.
Lol.
Also, the BDM director resigned over that, both inRP and ooRP, just fyi.

I think Anne pretty much summed up my response to that. Agmen, at least get some semblance of knowledge about the situation. I showed in in Omega-3 originally in order to tell that BDM to leave. You can ask him if you want. I then had to deal with a disrespectful privateer intent on harassing that BDM. After that Privateer was dealt with, I then had to go deal with an RM Battleship that entered the system without permission as well. By then, Dakun wasn't even there anymore.
If you think Dakun is getting the short end of the stick, you should talk to Rheinland a bit.

Violation of a treaty is not an automatic declaration of war. Now who is blowing things out of proportion? They violated a single term of a treaty through non-aggressive, non-hostile actions that were quickly and firmly rectified.

Again, violation of a treaty is not an automatic declaration of war, nor is it an automatic reason to kill the person who violated it, especially when they did so out of ignorance.
As for Blood Diamonds, it is Bretonia's laws, not Rheinland's, that are being enforced here.
I highlight the following passage from our law document;
Quote:Assisting Hostile Forces
Assisting any enemies of Bretonia, either through direct hostile action or trading with their bases, will result in a fine of 2 million credits.
Red Hessians are hostile to us. Transporting Blood Diamonds, solely mined and distributed by Red Hessians and their supporters, is assisting an enemy of Bretonia.

I would also like to suggest you read our laws before trying to tell us to read our laws. Because you didn't do a very good job of it the first time 'round.

Please highlight the relevant laws that were broken by military personnel. Claims with nothing to back it up is pretty weak.

See above quote from law document.

You go right ahead and do that. When I saw that thread, I saw lots of entertaining things in the near future.
I do suggest, though, that you do a thorough reading of all law documents and treaties pertaining to Bretonia and the Zoners.

I have been reading the laws - I think it'll be some fun forum RP.
