What i think will happen is a massive nomad force invades Gallia and destroys all systems with the same device they used to destroy the Sol system. and all Gallic forces return to Gallia to join the fight and are destroyed. End of Gallia.
Just my opinion.
Let's not go down the #RemoveGallia path folks... Again I voice that the idea of Gallia wasn't bad, it's just the way they have been presented was bad. Instead of an overpowered house, a faction like the size of Corsairs or Outcasts, that would've been okay with many folks.
What if RM invades Gallia from Zurich :V and then Gallia shrinks and has to focus on their own quarters. Things turn into normal and we have the old wars back = Activity.
It would be infinitely more interesting if Gallia would have occupied Bretonia enough to annex it and put down a pro-Gallic puppet state/monarch.
It would cause drama in all layers of society (and thus all sorts of characters that fly there or exist in Bretonian factions). As other have mentioned, there'd be resistances to join, turncoats and diplomacy shakeups, BAF and a lot of others would have a hell of a fun time figuring out how to react under new circumstances. It's a whole new scene.
Whereas if BAF pushes GRN back, that just puts things back to the stale place they were before and nothing new or significant would happen. The same political climate that was stale for many years already. I just hope that something nice works out in the end.
This is my third post in this thread, and I am probably overstating my opinion, but I would like to focus on the if gallia wins scenario being one that is amicable to both sides (i.e, Bretonia and Gallia), I know if Bretonia "losses" in the traditional sense it should be made subservient to Gallia, but that is not really fun, and presents a humiliation role-play that a lot of people will not be happy being their fate, especially as they had little or no say in it.
I again suggest a more amicable result and treaty, one that both houses can claim a victory of sorts, Bretonia and Gallia both admit that the fighting is too bloody for both sides, and they respect each others valor and honor, Gallia proclaims that its goals were not to conquer but to seek revenge for past sins, Bretonia has suffered enough, but Liberty, arguably the master in chief of screwing over other colony ships by claiming the best space in Sirius, still needs its comeuppance. As such, Gallia and Bretonia agree to band together through say, a political union, maybe some inter royal marriage to boot, to form one empire, made of two crows, each monarch elects say, 20 representatives each to form an oligarchy, the Gallia side has noble houses, GRN and corps, the Bretonia side has MP elected members "EMP's - Empire Ministerial politicians", some nobles, BAF and corps to each make their 20 representatives, and both kingdoms decisions are made by this 40 (+2, both monarchs) member body.
Territoriality, Gallia returns all conquered systems to Bretonia, both houses corps get bases in each others territories to encourage inter-house trade and development, i.e, BMM+Planetform in Gallia for mining and terraforming, and whatever Gallia corps do in Bretonia, maybe the Gallic gas corp can do something in O49, as that is a fuel producer. Gallic military and BAF fight together against Liberty, and maybe Rheinland too, as they are also on the list for a revenge beating.
Diplomatically, Gallia renounces the Corsairs, BAF renounces the Outcasts, CR and the Council (and some others?), and of course Liberty gets BAF as an enemy. Gaians and Mollys resume regular business of fighting BAF and Gallia.
II would have been interesting to see Gallia break up and be divided up, allow for Sirian colonization, instead of what we have. It was empty for so long because it was hostile to everything. The way to make it better and more used (more explored) space was to open it up to bring Sirius there, not the other way around. Imagine the Sirian houses sending corporations into a defeated Gallia to claim now uncontrolled resources. Junkers show up (actual Sirian ones), various militaries and organizations steak claims on planets, mining fields and territory because the Gallic government collapses. Council takes what territory it can, maybe new sub states arise. That would have been how the player base could be up there enjoying all those new beautiful systems that still rarely get seen. Gallia is still a bit of a hostile place to Sirian characters looking to just go to explore. Never was a delete Gallia person, but defeat them inrp to solve the problem, yes, because it should be there for Sirius to wind up in, not them wind up Gallia-izing Sirius.
I think we should reconsider pushing for Gallia to win the war. It might be "more interesting" from a gameplay perspective but what do we define as more interesting? Or do we simply mean different?
The reason people don't like Gallia is because it's a mary-sue faction, when you consider it closely. It has no basis in lore, it's mere existence is a bit of a stretch. Then we consider their surprise entry into the Sirius system with an almighty armada that absolutely ruins everything. They have the numbers to just overwhelm. But their tech is also really good and so different from boring Sirian tech. They get total and devastating victory over any Sirian House they go to war with, and can even fight on multiple fronts at once. The only thing that can challenge Gallia is... Gallia. Yeah. Civil war now, I guess. But still fighting a war on two fronts, against Bretonia and Liberty.
And now we're suggesting that Gallia conquers Bretonia? What?
Fine, Gallia is a faction now and is here to stay as part of the story, but have we stopped trying to be objective here? Are we just going to conjure up a bottomless fleet for Gallia, with infinite resources and no lack of anything?
I didn't use the term mary-sue by accident. If Gallia was a character, she'd be the new girl in the neighborhood who is young and sweet but also very well known and a tough badass when she's angry. She's agile and small but also really strong and hits hard so she's able to fight like an underdog but still win. Her biggest flaws are that she's too nice so she holds back whenever she feels like she's winning too much -- and that she struggles with her dark side and preventing it from taking over.
If that sounds like a character from Twilight, then maybe we should look at the situation here.
I've been noticing an influx of people derailing this discussion to offer their dream scenario of Gallia losing or being deleted.
Look back at my first post, and then look at yours. I just want the possibilities to be considered, not outright ignored or denied without a solid basis.
I get why you might hate Gallia, after all, they've antagonized a lot of people with their presentation. Despite this, I think we should think about the scenario presented in the initial post, as it does have a likelihood of happening.
Therefore, to remind you all of what this thread is about, answer this: What if Gallia wins?
But Bretonia was far too beautiful. To leave her as she is to such barbarians more or less infected by their alliance with blue things was impossible. So Sirius' High Council took the decision to make Bretonia a trap to put an end to this war and to make this system the galactic tomb of this army of invaders.

There are many far more worse offenders in that regard than Gallia. Gallia gets the rap for it just because they're a 'Disco faction' and having additional visibility because it encompasses multiple factions. In recent years Gallia has become much more grounded.
