Figured I'd upload my resume of sorts. Some events more successful than others, but all were pretty fun to make and participate in.
I try to include as many factions as I can where it makes sense, and I try to have a good eye for detail. I also prefer to have numerous checking sources, so a small team works perfectly.
Keeping things interesting is primarily my focus when making my own events, which would extend to the event team as well.
I was in the event team back during the last days of the Admin-era. I miss it. Would love to join again and bring some activity into parts of Sirius that mostly get ignored. I could bring a lot of free time with me since University starts for me in 2021.
EDIT: I forgot to answer your question about why I want to be a part of the team. Well, because I want to help to keep the server alive and bring activity into parts of the game, no one even goes anymore.
I was one of the 3 freighters in the Meles event. That was absolutely amazing fun, and I would love to be part of the group that runs these on the regular!

Back in the day I proposed something that as far as I know led to a few expansions of the previous "event" types, although it never really got implemented the way I had hoped for. I'd be interested in creating events that fulfill the following criteria:
- Events will be diverse, but the same type of event will be repeatable without much work. For example, a "Dublin Gold Rush" where every once in a while the gold price or drop rates are boosted for 2-3 days. Or a "major offensive" type event along a longer lasting conflict that gives a killcount+cash reward for a while, but the conflict will continue to happen for involved chars after the event too
- Most events will concentrate activity into places that are already busy, and easily accessible for new people, which will continue to be interesting after the event is ober. For example, a "gold rush" will encourage people to make new chars to mine/haul/pirate there, but the same route will continue to be a very good one also when the event isnt active, even if not as good as during the event-boost. Event will be a tool to create "habits" of players that concentrates activity into predictable and re-occurring every day patterns.
- Events will give an advantage through strength in numbers more than through strength in skill. For example, a jd4-jump trading+mining event between busy locations
- Making events open for as many factions as possible so people can use their favorite characters/factions instead of making throw-away chars so they can participate
- An additional kill counter for individual chars will continue to sum up over all events
- Before-hand "coincidental knowledge" such as "I wonder where those derelict stations or lootable wrecks may possible be" or "thank goodness events are always during times I can play and in places/factions where I have chars" so the same people make billions in scidata wont be a thing
- If there are lasting consequences for either side such as loss or gain of a base, official factions on both sides will have to agree to the terms, and indies on either side shouldnt be negatively affected by the outcome
Would love to support this community in any way possible, be it as mod, dev (sadly I only have basic c++/flhook knowledge) or member of the event team. I'd like to help you out in hosting those events!
I got a lot of free time lately. Basically I don't know what to do half of the day, so I could dedicate a lot of it towards this.
