The woman was looking at the shogun. Her wink made her blush a bit. As the shogun was walking toward the castle and did the finger sign, Anna walked slowly toward her. As soon as the shogun broke the silence, Anna stopped moving, keeping atention to her words. The shogun mentionned that the place they both go was sacred and that Anna needed to be careful to her surroundings. She promised to herself to only touch with eyes as we say.
''Do not worry. I am not that clumsy and I will only observe. As for the floor to not put dirt on it, I can take off my boots.'' She said that in hopes to have think right. ''And... if it can ease your fear, I can walk straight behind you or at your side.''
The woman has reached the shogun. She looked at the inside and her looks showed fascinated eyes.
Anna's gaze met the [castle's stunning elegance] for the first time. It has a rather intimidating yet regal air to it. Perhaps it reflects a different era, because the architectural design doesn't seem to match that of modern Kusarian interiors in the slightest. Tsuya turns to speak to Anna.
"Walk wherever you wish. Just do not stray from my presence, understood?" She turns around again, only to be struck by a mischievous revelation. There is an old trick she learned of that keeps rambunctious children from sneaking into places they don't belong. She speaks again, but doesn't turn to face her. "...The elders do tell tales of spirits haunting these grounds. Vengeful souls of our ancestors who knew nothing but bloodshed and darkness when their time came. Their path in life was to pave the way for us to bear the torch. I speak of Okamura and his ancient legion of guards."
After telling her the story passed down to troublemakers throughout the years, the lights hanging from the ceiling suddenly flicker to Tsuya's silent surprise. She plays along with it and forces a suspenseful chuckle. "It seems they sense our presence already. We must be respectful at all times. This place is, after all, a one to one recreation of the Imperial Palace on New Tokyo before our ancestors were exiled, according to recovered blueprints and archives found among the vestiges of their fleet."
As if pretending to balance herself upon a beam, she saunters towards the t-shaped staircase. It gave Anna ample time to 'take in the sights', so to speak. Meanwhile, in her head, she was considering the ramifications of allocating a little too much electricity to the artificial hot spring area above deck...
Anna simply nodded to the shogun after she said to not be too far of her presence. Walking next to Tsuya, Anna simply looked around within the temple. The woman liked the unique architecture. Then, when the shogun broke the silence, telling ghost story, Anna Aurelia did not fall for it. ''Ghosts? Heh. They don't exist and even if they do exist, they can't really interact with physical-'' Her sentence was interrupted when the lights began to flicker. ''Funny. Looks like the electrical system is so old that the lights flick. Anyway... I was about to say, ghosts can't interact with physical objects because they do not possess any mass.''
She stood at the cross section of the staircase when Anna's reaction made a wry smile form on her expression briefly. It faded just as soon as it appeared when she turned around to face Anna, as stoic as ever. "Spirits are very real. But they exist outside of our dimension of existence, which means you cannot define them by our dimension's logic. They may show themselves to people, toy with them, even harm them. Because within their own pocket of reality, they are bound by different rules. When you view it that way, I believe it refutes any potential scientific explanation you could fathom."
She pauses to continue up the stairs to the left of her instead of the right. The path to the throne was at the gate furthest in the rear of the castle's interior balcony. Deep within, she herself could not help but feel the slightest bit of anticipation in the pit of her stomach. Butterflies, some would call it. Though it only served to make her anxious. Maybe she was getting a bit too into psyching Anna out. Yet she could not push out the intrusive thought of something about to go wrong.
She now has the high ground, her gaze striking down upon Anna from afar as she leaned on the railing and adjusted her indoor slippers using her feet. "I wouldn't linger long, Anna... the statues may give you a fright."
Unable to shroud her enjoyment anymore, a faint giggle escapes her mouth.
Anna Aurelia was surprised and also unable to add something after what Tsuya said about ghosts. She did not want to start argue about silly things alike ghosts. She decided to shut up and let Tsuya win. The woman looked around her. She found the place unique in its genre. However, with the short story of ghosts said by Tsuya, even if Anna doesn't believe in that, the place felt less welcomed. That was just her perceptions.
After the shogun having the high ground and breaking the silence, Anna's attention turned on the shogun. ''What statues?'' Then when the shogun let out a giggle, it was now clear she liked to play with Anna. She was confused why the shogun was having fun but she couldn't resist and smiled to her. ''What is so funny, Tsuya?'' She decided to join her.
Once having the high ground as her, Anna now saw the statues that Tsuya said earlier. She backed off a bit. ''Ah! Why do you have them here?'' She said with some disgust in her tone.
