I mean - they do have an NAP with the squiddies, but it's not an alliance like what the Order and the Corsairs have.
OC just float about and just shoot at whatever lawfuls that happen to drift by while Corsairs do that AND produce ships for the Order :/
Erm, because I'm the Core Guildmaster and said so?
Okay, seriously though - just because the Corsairs may have made some ships for the Order, it's not because they're BFF - it's because it was an alliance of convenience for them. The Guild Core wants Nomad Technology - the expressly voiced purpose is because we feel that the Order is monopolizing it for their own uses, and we see it as a pathway to even greater power for our organization.
Thus, you have Nomads - ultimate source of Nomad tech, as priority number one. The more pieces of the original puzzle that we can have, the more our scientists and researchers can figure things out on our own, as opposed to giving those pieces to someone else (like Atka or Cambridge Research).
Next, you have the Wilde. Humans that are possessed by Nomads - using Nomad tech that is modified for them. These puzzle pieces may have already been adapted for specific use, and may not actually be able to be used directly, but could either answer questions we have - or could lead us down the wrong path on our research. (An example using real life engines - you get a fuel injection system from a Wilde ship, but all your engines today use carberators. How much good is that going to do for you, as opposed to getting a FULL engine off of a Nomad ship?)
The Order - well, they're our direct competition. They have some stuff that's been modified, and we know it works. We want it.
Outcasts - they appear to worship the Nomads. They've been known to help the Nomads. That indicates that they have some sort of special arrangement with them. So we need to find out all we can about that - check out their equipment to see if it's been tweaked by them. The Cheetah thruster, for example - did they develop that on their own, or was it with overt or covert Nomad assistance? Inquiring Guild Core scientists want to know...
Corsairs - honestly, they're just the people that happen to already occupy the space we're interested in working in. From the Core perspective, we honestly couldn't care less what they do - as long as they leave us alone to concentrate on OUR mission. Since the easiest access for us to Order tech and Nomad tech is by being in Omicron Delta - having a base there allows us access to both of their systems - then that's where we want to be, and we will be. They don't trust us because they consider us to be the same as regular Bounty Hunters. We ... don't care what they think, they're mostly beneath our notice. The only reason we squash them is when they become annoying bugs. And sometimes you have to go take out the bugs nest in it's own territory, to weaken it, so you can later do something else you want to do. (That's called strategic planning and operations.)

Not just from necessity, but as additional background for players as players to understand our motivations. The Core has had ongoing role-play now with various groups and we are concerned for all humanity. As part of our 'religious' zealotry in pursuing things, there has now appeared a new house that appears to be interested in militarily conquering all of Sirius.
Now, if this is purely a human-human thing, such as the current Kusari-Bretonian conflict, or the Liberty-Rhienland conflict - then all is good. If, however, this has overtones of the recent Nomad sponsored war that Trent and company from SP was involved in, then we have something to discuss, and our side has been chosen for us. These people could be just as the Wild are in Sirius.
And of course, now that the Order has allies that have told us in game that they are allied to the Order - well, then it's time for the SCRA to meet Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson... :P

Reading this let the impression that Core just has it's own motives.
emm.. so whats for the guild to fund them? Or wait wait. Core pays BHG for assist, but... Alright whats the deal for working for your own money you already paid?
And if Core are so separate from BHG and regular guild basicly do not interfare with Core's guild why they fund them? From what I red here it seems that if core would succeed it wouldn't even share a thing with regular guild.
Now this would make sense if Core is an older organisation than BHG. And BHG was formed by Core in the first place to gain funding. But as I'm let to know the truth is totaly the opposite. BHG found Core.
Thanks for nudging this. Very clarifying. I had once suggested the IMG hire some BH capitals to assist in fending off capital strikes by Outcast forces but after reading this I see that was... wrong on so many levels.
I do wonder on one thing though. We've had escort being flown by Core gunboats for our trade convoys. Reading this... those should have been standard BH rather then core, or am I wrong in that?

some clarifications please(might be noob ones but still)
Are BHG Core actually bounty hunters? if Not then why are they using Bounty Hunter weapons and ships? if Yes then shouldn't they be acting more like bounty hunters?

Information, the first principle of warfare, must form the foundation of all your efforts. Know, of course, thine enemy. But in knowing him do not forget above all to know thyself. The commander who embraces this totality of battle shall win even with inferior force.
Welcome to secret organizations within public organizations.
The regular Bounty Hunters Guild was started in Texas as precisely what it sounds like - a group of bounty hunters. When it grew to the point that the organization needed larger ships beyond the size of gunships, the Core was born. That's when the warships came about - Orca, Thresher, Bullhead, and Makos.
Now - the bigger capitals are perfectly suited for doing exactly what was mentioned here -
Quote:I had once suggested the IMG hire some BH capitals to assist in fending off capital strikes by Outcast forces but after reading this I see that was... wrong on so many levels.
and it WOULD be perfectly in character for them to do so, so there's nothing wrong with that suggestion. And for the proper money, we WOULD do just that - read the info cards on the Thresher and Mako, for example.
Quote:With their new destroyers, the Bounty Hunters felt much more confident among their Nomad, Corsair and Order enemies, being able to hunt Nomads and even fulfill bounty contracts against the Corsairs in the most remote parts of known space.
The new Bounty Hunter Battleships are intended for usage in remote Edge Worlds systems, mainly to defend convoys and space station construction sites.
It's just that up until recently, we wouldn't have been able to do so, due to the wording of our ID's, where we were restricted with the caps to the Omegas and Omicrons, basically.
Now, however, with the opening up of all non-house space to us, we have the opportunity to move out and start collecting bounties, start working for living with our caps, and we can act like bounty hunters. We of the |Core still see ourselves as more than regular hunters, but that's still just part of our RP. That's also why the ID's read the same as far as operational territory is concerned for anything OTHER than big caps. Part of our RP has been that we don't try to collect bounties with the big caps - well, now we can / might / probably will (if we can make an arrangement regarding Gallics).
