Only one of us does. I've already told Unseelie that if he's ever caught doing it, I'll throw him to the wolves inRP. :D
Still, Bowex gatherings generally lead to things like convoys, races, general hilarity. As soon as .86 is released, we'll be tinkering with player owned stations too. We've got a system of perks as well, which can be claimed if you do the required paperwork.
As Evan said, our recruitment thread is in the Bretonian subforum. You can look up all the intel you need there, including the lore behind the faction and various other faction-related documents.
Nobody ever catches me! Sides, there's friendly bases on every side of the system..run to omega three, run to omega 11, run to omega 41...sooo, Douglas station in omega three really makes omega 5 seriously less scary. Dev mistake, imho.
I like having rocks in my path. Gives me something to do aside from pressing f2 f3 all the time.

(yes, i've seen enough of those lolduels, where house military with overwhelming force on the field willingly loses a pilot in a duel. ffs.)
Also, you should really read some of the factions RP and see if you enjoy RPing a Bowex character before applying. Its all about the RP. Next, you need to be able to trade, and enjoy trading. If trading isn't your thing... well then, there's always the Clyde brigade.
