Ussaly then lawful forces catch a smuggler with illegal cargo they order him to drop it and pay fine. Seconds after cargo is dropped it's being shot and destroyed.
But... is it okey (as I assume it is) for lawful forces to sit and enforce embargo with few snubs + transport ship?I mean instead of destroying the cargo illegal goods are taken into police/military or whatever factions transport and being sold at the nearest military base for $$$.
Or this would be seen as somekind of "unlawful" thing to do?
Maybe this isn't relevent now, cuz there are no embargo runners, atleast not that many... I've just remembered how I've used to make money out of bretonia - kusari embargo that way. I'm just intrested.
(now then I think of this thread.. maybe I should have posted it in rules section.)

Why shouldn't it? You can RP the payoff as a bonus from your commanding officer for having found a big shipment of illegal goods. In real life (yes yes this is a game and defies all logic) cops don't just destroy drugs etc. right there at the spot - they bring it in to the station, where it is sent for destruction in an organized manner.
So a representative of the law impose a fine and gets illegal cargo to sell it for profit. Isn't it the same as a pirate asking for a fee and the cargo? Except the pirate has no badge or government to back him/her up.
It is best for a smuggler to try to flee avoiding capture and risk destruction... since he/she has everything to win and nothing to loose.
Why drop the cargo and pay a fine if the law is making money out of his/her cargo? Talking about double dipping....
