The Storta has it's 3 heavy turrets placed in an annoying fashion. The top-centre one cannot fire backwards, which results in me having to mount two light mortars on the left and right spot to get decent coverage when in turret zoom, even though the powercore can only really support one mortar. Could the top-centre one be changed into a 360 degree turret? If needed perhaps nerf the the arcs for the two heavies on each side to compensate?
It's a somewhat agile ship, but against our direct opponents (Praefect, Obstinate, IMG Battlecruiser) a bit of "kiting ability" is needed (to be able to fire backwards and sometimes a bit backwards and to the side, while thrusting away).
I agree that Stotra is really bad cruiser compared with similar cruisers- it was always bad ship together with Sarrisa( it is Valor/Turtle sized and have the stats of bret bs- two times smaller).
I guess it was the trade off for OP Sabres with mega OP guns and Inferno. Now the Sabre is not OP, the guns are only OP not Mega OP, and the inferno is still there.
I also wonder why there are not much OCs with Inferno-swap it on Sabre, the gun is really superior in PvP due to its speed- your enemy would stay deshelded all the time, combine it with LF- and you have almost unkillable pirate machine of 2 that can PvP pretty good with the even "nerfed" Krakens.
May be if Sarrisa stays nerfed the devs could at least give proper arcs to the Storta, Storta was and would stay snub killer- it was good solaris ship in 4.85, and it was always fail vs cruisers.

Just what i was thinking, i have a mortar on left one, cerberus in middle and right one. When i kite someone i have to turn left for a pulse and mortar or turn right for a cerberus to shoot. Kinda annoying. Would be much easier if the middle one had 360 degree so i can put ma mortar on it.
Yeh not only does the side-mounted LM look stupid from a aesthetic point of view, but it really sucks big time when turret steering that you have to keep all your targets to either the left or the right of you - in effect you need two mortars to get decent coverage.

One 360° heavy is a must on every cruiser, you could just make rest 2 to fire forwards and sides only or so.
Otherwise Cruisers like Storta or Scylla are really weak because LM is also must on every cruiser and wasting 2 slots for having LM coverage is bad thing.
Not to mention all zoner/hessian light cruisers having 2 360° slots- they are a way more effective then having 3 slots with nerfed arcs.

Bump. I know a balance monkey made a point, but the Storta is not a particularly good cruiser either way, and against the baddies we are up against (Valors, Obstinates, Legates, Praefects) kiting-ability is a must. Can we have 1 360 degree turret? Also all the turrets are top-side, so the storta already have pretty bad arcs in that respect.
There are numerous other cruisers which do not have a full arc heavy:
Zoner Destroyer
IMG BC
Molly/LR Dessy
To name a few examples. I agree on the Sarissa - the damn thing is way too huge for it's stats and could likely be scaled down by as much as 25%. Storta is on par with other ships of it's class - it's a medium cruiser with above average maneuverability and low frontal profile (but large top/bottom profile). Storta in my opinion does not need a change. Also, the balance "monkey" already said no.

Hmm ok admittedly I havent flown the LR/Molly and the IMG one, and I haven't used the Zoner for PVP. All I know is that either you have to stick your LM or missile on the side (which also looks silly) and try and circle your opponent, which is kinda difficult while having to keep distance, or you use two weapons and thereby waste a heavy slot.
If possible, I would much rather have the two turrets on the side not being able to fire backwards, and the one in the centre fire 360 degrees.
