They said we were finished, our cause lost. We have not vanished. We were always here, watching, growing, planning. People of Sirius, we have returned reborn and rearmed. We are the new Gaians and we will bring the wrath of nature to our enemies. Our creed is unchanged, our resolve increased and our ability improved.
We, the New Gaian Initiative, make the following demands of the Bretonian Crown and it's lackey corporations.
The immediate and complete cessation of all Planetform Incorporated operations within the Bretonia systems, and the dissolution of the corporation.
The implementation of new laws in regards to harmful and pollutive mining practices, and the prosecution of corporations in breach of said laws.
The system of Edinburgh to be granted the status of a Protectorate Of The Crown. Thus forbidding any further development by Bretonian corporations and ensuring the protection of the BAF against the incursions of the Gallic corporations.
The crown of Bretonia to recognise the Gaians as a lawful faction. Full pardon to be granted to it's members for any 'crime' committed up to the point of that recognition.
Legislation to be implemented and funds diverted to aid in the clean up of all waste and hazmats within the Leeds and New London systems.
The legalisation of Synthetic Marijuana
We consider these demands not only reasonable but essential to the people and systems of Bretonia. The systematic exploitation, rape and devastation of our natural wonders must halt before we reach a point of no return. We believe that all citizens of Bretonia have the right to live in a clean, safe environment and that the wonders of the systems should be preserved for the citizens enjoyment and appreciation. We are not terrorists, despite the best effort of the Crown and its media to portray us as such. We are the voice of reason. We are the cleansing wind that blows through the cloud of corporate corruption and indifference to show the bright clear sky. We are the New Gaian Initiative, and we bring the wrath of nature.
Faction Information
Area Of Operations: Our headquarters have been relocated from Islay base to Sandur base in the Faroe system. This is due, in no small part, to the presence of the Gallic Royal Navy in Edinburgh. Although a non aggression pact exists between ourselves and the GRN, it is an uneasy peace at best and to say that we tolerate their presence is somewhat inaccurate. It is a forced toleration brought on by necessity.
Diplomatic Information.
As of the time of transmission, our current diplomatic stance is;
Friendly
Corsairs
Hogosha
Farmers Alliance
LWB
Hostile
Bretonia Police Authority
Bretonia Armed Forces
Planetform Inc
BMM
Golden Chrysanthemums
Outcasts
Mollys
Blood Dragons
Bouny Hunter Guild

Orbital Spa And Cruise
Non Aggression Pact
Gallic Royal Navy
Code Of Conduct: The Gaian code of conduct is there to ensure the sympathy of Bretonian citizens and to maintain or garner the goodwill of potential supporters outside of Bretonia. We are not pirates, nor are we the terrorists the media would have people believe. We are activists yes, but we bind ourselves with an oath that ensures we behave and portray ourselves as more than mere criminals.
Ships, employees and assets of the Planetform corporation are considered hostile and are to be engaged on sight. There is no give in this rule, no grey area.
Accostment of trade vessels registered to non Bretonian corporations is forbidden under normal circumstances. It is however permitted to stop such vessels within our zone of influence and request a small donation to our cause. As we receive very little financial backing, such donatives are often essential to the running of our operations and are gratefully appreciated.
Mining ships operating within our area and registered to non Bretonian corporations (excluding IMG) will be asked to leave, if they fail to comply they are to be destroyed after being given fair chance for the pilot and crew to evacuate. The Exemption to this rule are Gallia registered vessels. They are to be left alone for as long as our NAP is effective with the GRN.
Mining ships registered to Bretonian firms or IMG are to be consistently harassed and harangued as and when they are encountered. Destruction of such vessels is preferable. Please note, IMG ships are only to be targeted in the core home systems. Their operations in the Taus and Omega regions are of no interest at present.
ANY Vessel found to be carrying Gaian Wildlife will be requested to dock at the nearest planet and release it's cargo. Failure to comply may still result in the destruction of the ship as it is a more merciful end for these animals than awaits them in the laboratories of Sirius.
We claim the Faroe system as New Gaian territory. Any vessel found in the system is to be identified and escorted out with a warning not to return under pain of destruction. We are aware that Faroe is a back door into Bretonia for many enemies of our enemy and we are willing to make exceptions to this rule for regular passage if a small donation is received. Exceptions to this are Corsair, Hogosha, Farmers Alliance and LWB vessels. All of which are considered valued allies and are always welcome.
All restrictions on attacking vessels are null and void should the vessel make a hostile action. Gaian pilots are free to defend themselves with extreme prejudice.
The possession of Cardamine, Gaian Wildlife, Terraforming Gas and Mined Ore of any type except Water or Oxygen, by any member of the New Gaians will result in immediate expulsion. This rule is rigorously enforced.
Ranks And Roles: Below is a list of all ranks available and their associated allowed ships and roles.
Gaian Initiator.
The commander of all New Gaian initiative forces. Responsible for coordinating the actions of all under his/her command. The initiator is permanently based on Sandur base and has no associated ship class. Though it is rumoured that they have been known to jump in a vessel and participate in actions. The Initiator is responsible for assigning strike targets, patrol areas, reinforcements, trade routes and all other aspects of Gaian operations. Their identiy is a closely guarded secret as this particular individual is one of the most wanted 'criminals' in Bretonia at present.
Gaian Guardian Claymore Gaian Gunboat. Limited to the protection of Gaian assets, bases and ships. Aside from escorting convoys, these pilots have few reasons to be seen outside of Bretonia and adjacent systems. They coordinate with and command the Gaian Avenger teams.
Gaian Avenger Roc Civilian Bomber.Chameleon HF.Eagle VHF.
The mainstay of the New Gaian Initiative. Avengers usually operate in teams of one bomber and a defending fighter or two. Harassing and engaging vessels within the Gaian ZOI.
Gaian Outrider Griffin LF. or other available civilian LF's.
The eyes of Gaia. These indispensable pilots serve as scouts. Their task is to seek targets for the Avenger team. Either relaying information about the target to team or to engage and keep the target in place while the heavier ships close with it.
Gaian Procurer
Any civilian transport or freighter up to 4300 cargo. Including Pirate Train. These pilots serve as the logistic arm of the New Gaian Initiative. From smuggling marijuana, carrying science teams, to reclaiming goods from destroyed ships and facilities, these are the pilots who keep the New Gaian effort rolling. A procurer will often accompany Avenger teams to tractor any jettisoned commodities or loot that can be resold and recycled. Also, it keeps the place nice and tidy.
Naming convention and ship registration: All New Gaian Initiative vessels carry the Gaian| denotive tag before their ship ID. Gunboats and transports are identified by their ship name whereas fighter class vessels display the name of the registered pilot. Hence Gaian|Ailean MacAulay in his Chameleon, or the gunship Gaian|Fitheach Dubh (Black Raven)
OOC Note. The above is as a guide to specific roles during operations only. Members will not be limited to the types of ship they can fly. It is hoped that members will enlist more than one character in the faction and thus be able to switch between roles as required. As long as they use the ship in the role it was intended. We DON'T want to see gunships smuggling pot through Kusari etc. The structure is purely for Rp operations. The Gaian Initiator is the only role not open to all members
Recruitment Conditions.
Membership of the New Gaians is closely vetted. The nature of the organisation attracts frequent attempts at infiltration by agents of the crown. All new recruits are subjected to constant supervision during a lengthy probationary period after acceptance. We are not, by nature, a trusting organisation.
To apply, respond to this transmission, which is a secure scrambled channel with a rotating frequency. State your name, date and place of birth, employment history (if applicable) and your reasons for wanting to join the cause. You are also expected to prove a sound knowledge of the ecological problems facing Bretonia and demonstrate a passion for rectifying said problems. If you think you can just join up to fight the BAF then we will direct you to the GRN recruitment office. We do not offer anything. No ships, no glory, no fame and no fortune. We merely offer you a chance to make a difference, a change, and to help create a Sirius in which our children can grow to appreciate the miracles and wonders around them.
OOC NOTE: The Gaian faction has been dead for some time and it is my intent to breath back some life into what I believe to be one of the most interesting and under rated factions in the game. The new conditions in Bretonia, with the advent of the Gallia invasion, gives rise to some new opportunities for RP and cooperation between several factions.
I have included the code of conduct to try and make the gaians stand apart from other pirate/terrorist factions. I do not want it to degenerate into a bunch of lane camps and ransom attempts. I believe that in reality, the gaians would need to gain favourable popular support, and destroying or ransoming the vessels of every corporation in Sirius would be counter productive to that goal.
The lack of capships, easy faction trade routes and few dedicated faction ships have maybe served to lessen the appeal of the Gaians to some players. I find these conditions favourable however. It gives the Gaians a toughness and drive for survival and forces them to be resourceful in the extreme. Smuggling Synth Pot into Bretonia is one way to finance the cause, but there are precious few goods that the Gaians can export within the bounds of Rp. And I would rather not have the faction reduced to another smuggling one. So far, the only thing that springs to mind is mining water in Faroe and reselling it as mineral water of the purest kind. Faroe after all is a relatively untouched and beautiful system. I also introduced the code on requesting donations, this may be piracy, but all vessels are free to decline. I have purposeful not made the consequences of that action clear. I feel that the donation idea will add cause for some Rp and interaction with other players. The Gaians need funds, the traders have them, but we dont wish to spoil our attempts at winning public support in other sectors, it's a tricky one.
Anyway, feel free to criticise, comment or just plain flame.

I think you should probably have a greater focus on Gallia as well - making requests of Bretonia regarding to Edinburgh would be an exercise in futility, seeing as they've already lost the system.
Instead, you should be petitioning the Gaul royalty about declaring the system as a Gaian reserve. Highly unlikely seeing as they'd probably want Gaia's resources, but worthwhile RP nonetheless.
I'd be wary of restricting new recruits to just LFs as well - that can be off-putting and may dissuade recruits. If you can bring consistently high activity and the probation period is short, that may counterbalance things though.
Looking forward to seeing where you go with this. Remember to make full use of Holmfirth and Skye as well. Islay and Faroe system aren't all you've got.

Yes i gave thought to the Gallia question, but I went with the Bretonian demand as their factions are far more active ingame. I have seen little evidence of GRN activity. As i understand it, the system is contested and I am using creative license maybe by assuming that the Bretonians will attempt tp take it back. Also, the tenuous NAP with GRN made me feel that making demands of the Gallic government would be detrimental, especially as they already forced us out of our Lewis base. I see no cause to rock the boat. Also of course, there is the possibility that we know the Bretonians are unable to meet our demands, and hence that's why we made them.
Also, I am not restricting new players to LF's, its simply a role that I hope some will take upon themselves to add some interest to operations. Members will be free to jump in whatever ship they wish but I would hope that we can put together the kind of structure i have mentioned for 'official' operations as it were.

This looks like a good take on things, and the political and public-support aspects remind me of the VWA. It'd be nice to have another group to RP with on a number of characters, and like I said you seem to have some good ideas.
Following on from what Jamie said, there's no reason you can't make demands of Gallia and Bretonia. Opening up snubs to recruits would probably be the best way to do it, but limiting the Claymore spam is a plus indeed.
You might want to talk to Iris/Scout for some tips from her time leading the Underloch.
Other suggestions would be to do some Forum RP as tje Green Front. Some interaction with the LWB would be appreciated by Ktayn, there are plenty of Corsairs to talk to as well, and the Hogosha and possibly Kusari in general would be worth sending comms to. I'd also been looking to talk with some Gaians as the Colonials about Gallia, and some possible cooperation there.
Thanks for the input fellas.
I am giving the Gallia situation some thought. I had a preconceived idea of what I wanted to do and confess I didnt really factor Gallia into it too much due to the low activity on the server.
The forum RP will be forth coming as soon as I see what kind of response I get in general. I will set up a comms channel for this eventuality and go from there. I have never been big on forum RP as I tend to turn off from the game when I turn the game off. However it would be a good way of drumming up some interest that will carry over into the game and make the faction more interesting and appealing.
I will certainly look forward to working with Crofts smuggler faction. I was concerned as to how I could import the Synth pot without looking like a smuggling faction ourselves. A mutually beneficial Rp arrangement with external smugglers would be a plus in my view.
Anyway, a faction is only as good as its members. It can have all the best ideas and intentions but without committed members to implement those aspirations, it's just another faction. So I shall continue to try and drum up some interest. I have some extremely detailed plans for Faction Rp events etc but I did not wish to clutter the initial post any more than necessary.

Considering you are against mining, I think you missed IMG (Dublin & Cambridge operations) on your repsheet. Also I dont think you will meet a lot of Dragons, unless you intend to "expand" to Kusari somehow. However limiting your own snub-tech (such as chameleon) is grave mistake - my opinion.
Quite nice to see Gaians trying to resurrect themself. Will hope to see you in space both on my Corsair and on SCRA characters.
At least if you think that old Coalition/Gaian frienship should be alive...

Anyway I wish you good luck with this project.
I intentionally didnt mention them as by the terms of standard rep I believe they are neutral to the Gaians. Their operations in the taus and omega systems are on the fringe of our ZOI and I saw no reason to complicate matters. The operations inCambridge and Dublin are cause for thought but as they are meant to be neutral I left them as such. I decided to focus on the home systems so as to avoid having to create anymore guidelines. Be assured though that any IMG vessel found mining in the home systems will be treated as any other by us. For now though, i am prepared to declare them neutral for ease.
Secondly, and for the second time. I am not limiting any ships for members. If they want to fly Chameleons then they can, the ranks and roles are for ingame organisation only with the exception of the top rank. Any member will be free to fly any ship as long as they are willing to apply to that ships role. I am hopefull that people will roll more than one character for the faction. This would enable us to put together the type of teams I have mentioned for faction ops when online numbers are limited. I will add a note to my initial post soon to clarify
Also, the blood dragons etc are on the diplomacy list because I took the friendly/hostile stances from the ingame info on the Gaians. I mentioned them for the same reasons I failed to mention IMG. This faction is brand new, about a day old, diplomacy will no doubt change as we become more active and established. Until then, all I have to go by is the cannon faction stances
