Just thought I'd add my oppinionon all this, as a strong advocate of Order doing patrol routes and such, I think this is a very good idea.

People keep raising the idea of thier being naval satilites and other satilites to provide this info, but come on now, do you really think pirates don't use ECM to hide thier trail, heck, several of the Order ships especially have stealth technology in thier description, with the current system, you try moving a recon task force arond in RP and low and behold, thiers a navy gank squad jumping on you, or a BHG one.

Also, to take the point of fights becoming un balanced due to lack of intel and/or not being able to pin point known peoples positions, do remember that if anything unfair balance in some fights is more realistic. If your going out to raid and the enemy hasn't prepared then you take them by supprise, if they have got a scout who spotted you on route, then I say let them built up a strong strike force, serve you right for being sloppy and not keeping off the radar.

Finally, people have raised the point of systems being empty or you flying on your own, let me ask you, who doesn't fly with some form of back up most of the time? I mean, if I go on a patrol, or go pirating, I go with friends, and if we end up camping a lane for 30 mins withut a hit, we chat and plan and brag and joke while we wait, and if we don't get a bite, we move on.

You have to remember, this is an RP server first, and in RP this makes very little sence, especially when people say about being ale to see through to diffrent sectors with sensors, after all, the JH's and JG have to be activated inorder to transit a ship, so how are the radio waves/radardar ment to pass throught the JH/JG when its in active?

No, do not touch the game menu and do not touch the "system" views.
IF this is going to get removed you`ll ruin 80% of Freelancer multiplayer gameplay.

Bla bla bla.. lets say everything else is fine..
But i would quit bounty hunting if i get still same pitty reward of 1million or 5 million.. it would be too low and i dont think anyone would pay 20millions for someone to get shot down so he could respawn in 4 hours



One way would be to restrict this in group combined with your and systems around you. That would be realisting to some point.


I am in Delta in BHG group i see my BHG friends where they are i see who is in Minor, Lost, Kappa and Iota but i don't cant see anywhere else. That would be possible, BHG patrols are in Minor all the time Iota.. well.. we dont need to see who is inside except Keepers, Kappa well.. why not? and Lost its empty but why not

I would like to see that changed. It would add thrill to the game and it makes more sense in RP. Without the system part, people would actually have to look for somebody instead of just scrolling down the chat window. And in order to be able to find somebody you would have to place a tracking device on his ship. This way it's as if we all got one already.

I think EVERY BHG hunter will say this.. if you want RP i want 100millions for kill yeah.. i am bounty hunter... lol

@Warlord: If you have plently of time and like just searching for interaction (lets say hour or a couple) alright, simply do not use Y

But admire people who has RL here, and really are not up to flying around space and not meeting anyone except "red must dai" attitude NPC's for somewhat of few hours.




Realistic stuff is not always fun. And this is not a space simulator.

I would be in favor of making Nebulae actually hiding people, making ambushes plausible.

While I like the idea and only being able to see people if they are in a system where your faction has a base/station/planet/etc would be realistic, it would also hamper RP. I admit I use it so I can find people to interact with. Hell, the other day I used to to talk to a someone in another faction I am friends with and it ended up in some RP in Gallia, instead of another boring trade run. It can be used for good and bad, but that is true of most things.
