The spatial is an exploration ship, with the capabilitys to haul around small amounts of cargo. If you really need to roleplay an explorer with loads of cargo, then please, get a freighter.
I use mine as more a prospector...buzzing around to different mining fields. I've got one mining laser equipped, a Miner ID, and a fairly neutral rep. I don't think it's going to kill the cash-cow to give it a decent amount of cargo space. With some foodstuffs, water, oxygen, consumer goods, and a ubiquitous Uni8, that takes me down to only 100 cargo...pretty small for a ship the size of a small island.
Also, it's a MINING SHIP by rights and reason according to the new mining mod. While the Dacite and the Basalt act as buzzing little gnats in a mining field, blowing up small rocks with wild abandon, the Spatial (and to a lesser extent the Mafic) could stand to be fairly decent mini-haulers in their own rights. Something that an independent miner can use to ply his trade, instead of a bunch of indies flying Hegemons.
@Jure. Aren't you on the balance team? slap a cap8 on one and go try to blow things up. I don't believe you're going to have a huge ship on your hands. And if it is, take away it's ability to mount a SNAC, just put a mini-razor on it.
The spatial can already mount Cap 3 Armor. The spatial can fire 4 Archangels, 1 snac, and the rest debs, the spatial has 2 mine slots, the spatial is like a big bomber....I dont think the spatial needs more anything.
By increasing the cargo size of the Spatial, what you get is, every joe moron in sirius flying the spatial, with a freelancer/merc tag, blasting away cuz I HAZ CAP 4+ ARMORZ.
What should be done, is they should get rid of the import, and make a new model...but thats another story, i love my spatial.
Besides, IMO, the spatial is like the Geb of SHF's its good for RP, and its ok against NPC's, but if you go against a player, you will be dead.
I say yes, increase the cargo. The Spatial, unlike all freighters and one transport (AT), is so big it can't use docking rings. It's an easier target than most just about all fighters/bombers/freighters and some transports (not even including the AT). It can't be used like a bomber, since though it may be able to mount a SNAC, it can't mount a SNAC and a CD at the same time. It's not a fighter. It can't be used like a fighter with any hope of success. It doesn't have cargo anywhere near a freighter. Even Cap8 won't protect it from... Well, from anything. Bombers own it with a SNAC, fighters dance circles around it and can easily kill it (though the Spatial may be able to run away before being killed), transports will be able to kill it pretty easily with any of their turrets (unless they go all pulse), and gunboats will rape it. Even cruisers and battleships probably won't have much difficulty hitting it, it's a GIANT FLYING TARGET.
So, yes, increase the cargo. At least make it a decent choice for a small-time miner, because there really aren't any good choices for a small-time miner, and the Spatial isn't at all good at anything else.

- Class 6 FR shield. That's 24.3k or up to 29.2k. Holy crap.
- Cap 3. 'Nuff said. Uni 8 still applies if you want to be able to mine.
- Chainfire a Screamer and then a Nuke. That can one-shot a LF with Uni8.
- To top it all off, it looks cool and has one of the best models in Disco.
It doesn't need anything more. It's powerful and epic enough.

Like I said even with cap8 there is no way a spatial can harm anyone who knows what they're doing... and those that don't know what they are doing can be killed without an armor upgrade... Becouse it's so big no ammount of armor will save it. So it can have large cargo... somewhere in the 300 region, as it's not a proper freighter.
With a SHF powerplant the ammount of SN's you can fire is pitiful. It's by no means a bomber. It's so large and slow you can just dogefight it till death without loosing botts. It might actually be a good idea to give it freighter powerplant and turn it in to a freighter. proper 450 cargo or so... to the way it should be used that's probably better...
Now don't get me wrong it has awesome fighting stats as it is.. 8 forward firing guns/turrets, 1 SN or CD 2 mines,... but it all comes down to agility and size in it's case. A flying barn, that tiped over.:Dlooks awesome but fights like a barn with cannons mounted.

What about you mount everything youve said here, and try to kill mah titan with it. I doubt you'll be able to take out my shield.
Its a fail ship. Perhaps its got a lot of firepower, but its so slow and so big that almost any new bomber pilot can snac it.
(oh and yes I have fought spatial quite a few times)
