And? This is a discussion about BH weapons, not our perceived gaming ability, the whole Kick in the pants thing was simply a rebuttal to some of your opinions. Even so I would like t know which char were you and when did this happens?

Ultimately keep the personal **** out of this thread.

In my opinion, the Bounty Hunter weapons should have less damage and more range. No extra speed, considering the potential for imbalance. Bounty Hunters do need capital ship weapons, as:
a) they can produce capital ships, so its likely they can research, develop and build weapons for them
b) other factions with little emphasis on capital ships have their own turrets -like the GMG and IMG- while the BHG have nothing. -Not a pvp note, the background suggests the Guild Core uses larger ships to survive longer out in the harsh environs of the Omicrons.

Edit: to the people who are confusing the Guild Core with the Hunters section of the BHG, you need to read up on the background a wee bit more. Any arguments about "hunters not needing large ships to hunt" is completely irrelevant, as Guild Core pilots (capital ships belong to the Core) do not hunt bounties.

' Wrote:well, one cannot ask the "how" for every faction anyway. - not only the BHG are lacking the backstory about how the found their fleet. - all other factions share that. - the order for one... there are some rich people that support them - but support them to build a fleet of battleships? - hardly.
The Order is supported by the Corsairs who built the first mass-produced Osiris' out of Tripoli, once a firm method of production was found and the shipyards of Omicron 100 completed the construction aspect was transfered back to the Order. The Corsairs still supply materials at a hefty price. The Order then receives funds from the Zoners, a very rich faction, and rich benefactors, who usualy happen to be rich.

' Wrote:BHs are not supported nor allied by houses, and Mollys,LRs,RHs are all allies with Outcasts.
And where do Corsairs get supplys? Where does Order get tech from?
The Corsairs get supplies from a multitude if sources- firstly, they can mine metals from Crete. It may have a pitiful amount of farmable land, but there's lot's of buried stuff to find. Secondly they can raid materials. Omega 3 is prime ground for this. Plenty of NPC transports/trains, plenty of Corsairs, a Freeport and no law. They lift gold from Bretonia heading to Rhineland and Rhienland mineraly/metaly/engine compolenty type stuff heading for Bretonia. Finaly, the artifact trade. It produces billions. That money can be used to buy supplies from Junkers, Zoners and other unreputable sources. Happy?

And, damn X-Lancer beat me to it, abit in a slightly raised tone.

Anyway, this is highly off-topic. I myself have no problem with the Guild Core having proper capital guns (having the guild Core as a seperate faction would solve -alot- of problems now I think of it) seeing as the current situation of using House guns is far worse then any fallout from if these were implimented. I mean, Lancer, although it would cripple my favorite faction, with your argument you might as well say 'remove Corsair BS guns, the Legate gets whored so removing them would solve the problem.'

Meh. How's progress on these guns going? I want to know! They're smexy!

Well the guns look good, this one should be a no brainer... if they can setup fighter weapons, why not cap weapons... they have their own bases and such.

Order for example only has two systems to runn around and research stuff and has a massive array of weapons to chose from.

Bounty Hunters should have something to pick up aswell...

My hero. Are Beam weapons even possible like Freespace guns for battleships?

Beam weapons are possible using either of 2 methods.
1. Very high ROF with standard graphic.
2. Modify the graphic to be extreemly long.

The 2nd option is the lesser of the 2 as far as load on the server (less objects to keep track of).
In a different mod that I played on they incorporated Star Trek Phasers.
ROF was 4 but the graphic was a very long beam so at most ranges the graphic would overlap thus producing a beam effect.

We won't have double barrels due to sound issues.

Also, question on particle color... red is more typical for pirates, are you sure that this color is the right one to use?

too bad on the double barrel - but red is the colour the BHG used on its buckshots ( white core, red lightning surrounds it ) - the reavers are red with a tinge of pink.

even the BHGs engine effect is that of a red hot gasflame with a blue/pink core.

a question about a compromise, igiss - how about a double or quad barrelled turred MODEL - but a single projectile weapon. ( so its really only cosmetics ) - is that possible?
