Answer this, so I can continue with my side of the story.
I second that. Some people just prefer to RP with guns, deal with it.

Just to state my opinion about pirating: I hardly pirate anyone for more than 3 mills, I trade and mine myself often and I know it's a pain to lose money. Generally my demands depend on the RP skills of my victim. The better the RP (for me) the lower the tax, pretty simple.
I do like how everyone is responding with their views on the post and
thier opinions on RP, with most of it being civil.
I have read what everyone has said, and you guys have to rember it's
my opinions. I'm more of a person that hopes everyone comes out of
something in a good mood, rather than pissed off.

If your want to say something demeaning, or in no way constructive, do
not post.

Yes. He is perfectly correct in stating that sometimes you can attack right away. That you have to toss out a RP reason to attack doesnt mean it can't be right away.

This one is hard. We want everyone to have fun with the game, but at the same time there is a desire to remain as close to the role play as we can. This is a difficult tight rope to walk. I feel that every character is different, and every faction has it's own baseline rp. I try to stick within that. For example, while I am on my AFA, I always demand all of a ships cargo if they are not from Kusari. That is the roleplay of the faction. I could run into the exact same trader on my Corsair and only ask him for 2 million credits. How harsh or nice I am to another character really depends on what character I am playing. I hope that as a player, the person on the other side is not too upset, but I can only play the game if I understand that not everyone is going to be happy with my actions, and the only measuring stick I can use is to be consistent to the role play of my factions and my characters.
Also, dont curse,
I am going to start cracking down again.

Oh Also, welcome back Dancing Lady, good to see you around again.
'My say on RP' will be diffrent... cause I was just going to start a new thread about RP, and then I found this topic, which suits well I think.
It's just two diffrent thoughts about techniques, that helped me to feel better what my char feels like.
1. MUSIC
During playing a little crazy char of a smuggler I found that when I listen to something that (for me) has a great amount of energy (like PRODIGY, or some METAL bands) I feel more agressive, and my smuggler is starting to act... I don't know... more risky, arrogant, mayby (for some of You) even stupid;)That's how he SHOULD be played, and suitable music made me feel more 'like Him'.
During playing Morgan (especially at the beginning)... a very depressed char, with very dark past, I listened to some depressive rock bands and it worked perfectly... I was calm, sad.... Hehehe... Personally, playing 'Him' was almost like nightmare, but this char (at the time) felt like that, and again, suitable music, helped me great to feel His weird, depresive mood... It wasn't.... nice... to feel like that... but that was part of His story, and I had oportunity to feel what I should feel at the moment, and NOT ruin the story I writed myself...
2. MONEY
After buying ALL the equipment for my main char Morgan (including ship, guns and yeah yeah yeah:PCAU8) - from the money I earned on smuggling as Jack Torrance - I completely STOPPED giving more money to Morgan from Jack.
Let's say smuggler Jack had a HUGE debt to pay to Morgan, he did, and the are even now. So I started to play Morgan, which had ALL THE EQUIPMENT and only about 200 k credits in cash at the time... and it was fun, to earn every milion... FIRST on piracy, NOW on mercenary services... It's fun that char is - from some point - on 'His own', and every expence in the future will be covered only from his personal funds.
-------------------------------
What you think about that?
What are yours ideas or techniques to RP better, feel the mood of a char, be more realistic...?
I'm single-minded douche bag who likes to troll without reading entire post without a good reason. (propably becouse I disregard you and also, becouse the post was too long. This is important to me, cuz my english is very bad)
Now becouse I already stated what you will propably think of me I can say my opinion:
I do not come here to play for pleasure of others. Read my sig. Only thing I care for is the server rules and my own fun. Not exactly your intentions. Sometimes I'm happy then other people are happy (mostly the ones I like around here). Sometimes I'm happy then I actually piss off someone. Or make them fail at something they wished to work. And then I'm the main cause of that. This brings into the most sharp and intresting situations. Now as long as this is kept in sportly manner it all goes well. But we all know that some people take this game more srs than anything else in their life. Unfortunatly, that's not my problem.
Now all those countdowns and such.. well yea a bit crappy.
You think that RP is good when both sides are pleased. Why should my goal be to please you? I have fun when you blow up, Im not here to entertain you, Im here to play a game. I will abide by the rules, say two sentences and engage you, because that is fun for me. Is it fun for you too? I dont care. So what you should do in that post of yours, is come down from that high cloud.
If I see you as my enemy, I will give you a chance to escape and live. If you refuse to leave and just stay looking for some interaction, well who says that I cant interact with guns?
People are not here to entertain you, they are here to entertain themselves.
