Like the Templar, the Bretonian emblem is going to be textured on wings, if that's what you mean.

Texturing is going to be a real challenge, I hope I will be able to complete it within next week. First things first though, I'll be making some adjustments to the model first.

The Hussar is one of the first ships that proved to be maneuverable and agile in bretonia history, bretonian ship builders have no other ship to take and work on it in order to create something new considered as agile. If you check the comparison top view image again, you will notice that the body is bigger, the armor shell is wider not slimer, wings are not like templar's but new ones, the head give a look of a design build to be a stage from Hussar to Templar but something between them. That was the entire point of our design and since you have noticed it, that means we did it well.

' Wrote:It looks kind of flimsy around the bottom, too. Like, if I hit an asteroid, that engine would just fall off, and everyone would start screaming. I would also be in favor of a new HF, because Bretonia already has a VHF.
The Dragoon features only one engine, because as I said, our goal was to create the missing stage between Hussar and Templar, which to fit well in the current Paladin Info Card. The words "It was an old ship design" helped us a lot, to give that ship a look of really old design from technology point of view: Hussar basis parts and featuring new Templar MKI heavy armor plating. The Templar features two engines with same position, placed there on the bottom and so far asteroids were not a problem:)

' Wrote:Proposing stats is kind of irrelevant. The dev team will work those out. Compare it to ships of a similar size and class and then go from there. Standard operating procedure.
We are fully agree with the people here that pointed the stats needs to be reworked. As dab said that is job for the devs. We had created that model guided from all tree hussar-paladin-templar info cards and their respective stats. All that helped us to finish and give a proposal for the current stats, depending on what parts we took from the ships we have used.
Hussar: maneuverability, turn rate, small weapons and weapon positions.
Templar: cockpit featuring only one engine and parts of the templar's heavy armor, better power core than Hussar but not enough to be a core for VHF, 5 x level 10 weapons (since that ship have only one engine and no other place to be mounted a gun) but they 10's would continue to prove the bretonian heavy ship line, if not the armor...the gun will be heavy.
The devs are the people that will balance it and work on the stats. Speaking about developers, our team would want to hear a proposal from their side about the stats of the Dragoon, if possible.

I can't wait for the day we get over the traditional (ugly) Bretonian "fish" design on ships.

The model itself looks well-worked and well-rounded though. As someone else mentioned, you can see the hard work that went into making it.

I just hate the design of every Bretonian ship in the game. But that's just me.

Our intentions were that ship to become usefull. If the devs take this model and make it balanced, and good like other HF's for example as: Agama, Bayonet, Cuirassier, Cuirassier Noir, Gladiator, Karasu and Serval , some of which are primary ships for the official factions and are made to counter VHF's even at the level of HF, then none of us will have problem with that at all.
This thread is for the model not if the ship will become VHF or HF. We gave you all a full proposal: a ship with its stat card, not a request all this to become real. Our goal is the model to replace the current paladin and probably to take the Dragoon name with it.

Ships like: Black Dragon, Blossom, Charon, Eagle, Touketsu and Virage are using armor from 8600 to 9200 max. They are all considered as Very Heavy Fighters and none of them, except the Virage and Touketsu are real VHF's from stat point of view. Low power core, low armor, very small shape, very quick in general and maneuverability, 4 x level 10 guns is the only reason for them to be VHF. These ships are very good example of something between HF and VHF. The Dragoon must be placed on same level, something between HF and VHF, and since these agile ships are considered VHF's what is the problem?
If you check all of the mentioned ships above, you will find a very small and meaningless differences comparing to the current paladin.
We made the model to posses 5 guns only: two of them on the wings, two on the head and one on the engine below. If this fighter stay at the level of HF with 5 guns only, then devs will have to make it "unique" or give it 2x level 10 guns which will automatically place it as VHF, or to increase its maneuverability level at very interesting level.

And again we were talking about that with the team and none of us is having problems if the ship paladin/dragoon stays at HF level.

Check the model, if you like it: Vote. That is the meaning of this thread. Leave the dev team to decide what to do with it if its been accepted.

I cannot say anything that hasn't already been stated.

I will ignore stats as they are not up for discussion.

i will focus on the model.

It fits the series. It fits it well.

Unlike the Tie-fighter

I think it is narrow, and that is a good thing.

It has my thumbs up.

I'm basically in agreement with Alvin here. That model update is superior to the tie-fighter by several orders of magnitude. My only qualm is the hump-back it appears to be sporting. I'm not sure if that's a staple of the shipline, but the back seems more arched than I remember the Cavalier being.
