I'm not contesting that. This place needs to be less srs bsns and more fun. That's why I have the Clydesdale Brigade. :D
Anyway, something doesn't need to make sense to be fun. That's what indys are. Just, if you're going to go all RP purist, they don't make sense. So what's the point going for purism, really?
I am not against factions in which you should apply in order to have their ID (and thus their RP) but I am totally against factions which doesn't have a recruitment thread. This should change because it doesn't promote any good.
If I want to make a faction and I want to keep only my friends inside there, I will keep it as an unofficial (and thus insignificant), not restrict a large amount of Lore to the rest of the community just because they are not my friends.

Ok then, those factions you say that don't have public recruitment threads, get said recruitment threads where you can post your application, which in return all will be denied as the faction in question will still operate under their used policy of recruiting despite the fact they got a recruitment thread now.

Possibly you apply for a faction and get accepted or not? Membership of any faction does not exclude you from being a tool, nor does it mean you are a tool. Behaviour decides that.
I do agree about option 1 and that this option is the right and the good one. What I cannot understand is why the said factions should have better technology PvP-wise then the rest of the Sirius?
This is what annoys me about them.
I can easy join any of them, making second forum account and playing by the rules of the said faction isn't that hard, but I dont want to be member of them cause I dont want my RP to be so nazi-like dictated by someone.
I had nice encounter with some of the said factions a couple of days ago, around 20 min nice RP because their IDs didn't allowed them to shoot me,exactly at the 20th min 5th member of the said faction came, his ID allowed them to shoot me, they made nice 5 v 1 with OP technology on my non-shooting RPing Transport at the moment when they got the right to do it according to the rules.
This is annoying and I would never RP with any of the said faction.... Don't get me wrong I enjoy to be shoot at when there are some normal RP reason behind it,I also have no problem with ganks, but shooting people without proper RP reasons with OP technology sucks big time.
The question about their PvP advantages stays and I demand honest answer for it.

This helps you how?
Not only that, but you'll also always be at the hand of the leadership, and they can have various views on how a faction should be run. Maybe I feel like flying once a month, but the faction requires presence in game at least once or twice per week. Maybe I wanna go on a 6 month hiatus, knowing that my characters won't get deleted, but by the time I return, the faction leadership changed, roster refreshed, people kicked out, and I find myself having to apply again. There's also the bias factor that we cannot ignore, no matter how hard we try.

Which is actually every ship of every other faction. But this isn't our choice, this is their choice. We didn't choose to be enemies to every other faction in Sirius.
The Wild won't always be hostile to everyone in Sirius though, apparently that's going to change.

While the topic is about why people can't be indies. Akura your members which you recruited over skype for pvp didn't even know how to write your faction name
