on phone so editing quote blocks is a nightmare so just going to bodge this:
aerelm:
"However,
[6:49:07 PM] aerelm: as for house corps, they are the ones building and producing the house civi gear
[6:49:22 PM] aerelm: I personally dont see why would they even want another house's civi tech
[6:49:35 PM] aerelm: it's like a tailor buying his clothes from someone else while he's the best in town"
I think this makes a lot of sense from a lot of angles, with the caveat that the current system papers over a few gaps: from my own pov, the bretonians have their liner which has no real equivalent for the rest of us, and Kusari, Bretonia and Rheinland all have a house freighter in the 5-600 "this isn't depressing to trade in" range, whereas Liberty.... ;(
although I understand the rhino is being buffed in some fashion?
so yeah, if you were a hotshot tailor, you wouldn't want to touch other dudes stuff, but if you go to tailorcon and realise you're the only guy who doesn't make trousers, you're gonna suck it up and buy some.
and yeah good idea, I'll add you on Skype soon, just hope it doesn't become too much work for a very tiny faction.
govedo: I was talking about flashpoints, sorry you didn't catch that.
Redemptions being available was more from the plans both Fallen and I had for our respective shipyards to help with the Roussillon fleet. Southampton is larger but is obviously used to defend against the full brunt of the Gallic fleet; Sabah (and Coronado) is out of the way and with most of the Colonial fleet just needing some engine fixes and retooling for Zephyrs we'd be ok. So yeah, I suppose just an SRP for a CR Redemption, or a Council or BAF Zephyr.
Less worry now we're keeping the 90% small tech after the system is in place.
Well like you said with the Zoners, corp players would use different types to signify their background. Just my thoughts, I thought it was currently 90% and a 75% (like most Bretonians and Libertonians get).
Ben, nice attempt at stretching the tailor analogy...
Thought it might have been the number, nice distraction from the other bias

It shouldn't have been added in the first place. That particular tech share is awfully wrong when you look at it from a balance perspective. Both Rheinland and Kusari gear are balanced for their own house and for shooting their intended opponents. swap their places and you'll get a good dose of headache.
Then I have to wonder why the BPA ID has 90% access to Lib Lawful guns and ships up to gunboats. Aren't both house techs balanced for their own house and shooting their intended opponents, that gives both police factions a 90% on each other? True, LPI has less acess to other tech, which would make it reasonable, but comparing BPA and RFP ID tech nerfs, this really let's me wonder.

Not gonna happen, I'm afriad. Balance reasons.
I see. Comparable balance issues from the Bret-Lib complete techshare aside, can this 'no' be reassessed once we see how badly the Rheinland lawful ship nerfings go?
It's just a tad disappointing to see that Kusari and Rheinland got the short end of the stick when it came to this draft for balance reasons and the actions of indies - especially given that Bretonia and Liberty have a very good thing going.
It's also disappointing to see that the so-called "open market" and house civilian technologies are so heavily nerfed to many ID's. Technerf was supposed to be a system to prevent obviously overpowered combinations while opening up possibilities, rather than being restrictive.

InRP the Hel is an outdated Cruiser Hessians use as a cashcow on black market. They sell it to anyone and their dog who can afford it just for a quick buck unless the one trying to buy it belongs to one of the hostile factions. So yes, anyone who gets a cell to Hessians or has access to Rheinland black market can get one.
...
While the faction is technically disbanding, until the Admins make a statement about the future of the ID, I have a query: We currently have 90% on the RPC. Now a red cell? HF has overlapping ZoI with the Unioners, who can supply the ships in small quantities.
Also, 90% on BW tech and 100% on Sirius Civ? It's currently the other way around. HF bases sell BW ships. It's not like our guns aren't balanced for 7-gun ships (Sabre), right?
Ageira: It would make more sense if the 90% tech cell on house civ ships was with Bretonia, not Kusari. I don't really mind as there's little RP sense in flying a non-Liberty ship on a Lib Corp ID, but if the current arrangement is a balance sacrifice to keep both open, that's fine by me.
