Nah, that was just Camtheman. He's got a chip on his shoulder and a mostly empty head. He's a harmless sideshow, more than anything. He's just quoting Dab as a buzzword that's associated with the 'olden days' as a way of giving his nonsense some credibility. It doesn't work very well.

so is that it? some dude ddos's the server using a proxy and he'll never be found or stopped? good by rp24/7? can our characters be switched over to a new server? not that i want to ditch, but can a back up be set up? they can't ddos more than one at the same time right? if its illegal most governments have police for internet crimes. maybe its small potatoes to them but there has to be a way to track this to its source to prevent this from continuing. it seems like whoever is doing this is wasting their talents on this game. i saw a 500m account contest, someone offer this guy the credits to make him happy so we can move on! :p

Yeah seriously, I've been wanting to play for awhile now. You guys are aware that there are preventions to a DDOS, I'm sure. But you likely don't wish to pay the money for it. But as the person above me stated, do you have backups? I hope to god you do, because all servers should have frequent backups. Not like you couldn't just hop on your server and copy paste everyone's info to another server. Sucks not playing disco, and this will really hurt the community in more ways than one. I suggest putting a public message out asking what the reason for this DDOS is. Though that is likely what the DDOS'r wants, and will be over joyed this has happened, just do it. It'd make life easier. You know, who ever is putting their time into this is still breaking the law, and on that note you can indeed report them to the proper authorities. I.E. police etc. Likely this guy has had prior experience and what not, but it wouldn't hurt. Proxies are not the end all be all. Just saying.

Yeah, they'll have a few too many IPs for me to bother individually dealing with...

"Talents"? More then likely using some of many scripts that's already been written by someone else. It doesn't really take a lot nowdays to pull off something like this.

Also a talented / skilled individual wouldn't waste his time on a video game server with ~150 users.

Here I was thinking I made a break-through in the mysterious DDOS saga. Oh well.

To answer those concerned, yes, we have backups. The game server archives daily.
