chat line as feedback. Would it be possible, that the chat would display:
W.F.Cody-Equipment.Shop: /l1 Good evening, ladies and gentlemen?
or
W.F.Cody-Equipment.Shop: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen? /l1
So that a /setmsg will automatically add an praefix or appendum at the chat line?
So that everyone knows you're sending them a premade, generic, completely especial greeting?
I'd rather you just not message me because you're busy with customers, rather than send me a boring and plain greeting that you send everyone else, that's kinda insulting.

Actually, I just do something like "engage enemy" and say it again in different words to get the min. requirement for engagement.
I could also do a macro to do "good RP notices".
In which case, we know you're one of those PvP whores who just likes to get blue messages and cares little for RP, instead of you hiding behind a better sounding /l1 message where we don't know for sure if you're trying to RP, or just get a blue message.
I'm happy to know you're the former, than be uncertain if you're the latter.
Wouldn't be surprised if you popped up in this forum.

That's the same line as on the gun debate. If there was nothing to be done against people who break ID rules because they're always going to, we wouldn't bother having ID rules. We have rules to enforce because they work 8-|
Fair enough. I think my point is still valid. Rules or no, some people just have NO interest in rping in any capacity. Perhaps they're new, shy, can't speak very good english, hunting blues, etc. etc.
Again, you can't force RP on those who aren't willing to partake, you can only force them off the server.

The greeting sequences dropped for ~ 75% at minimum. Less friendly athmosphere.
Anything else?
Discuss.
My engagement notices became shorter. There's not enough time to give a proper engagement notice when entering the group fight on the battleship, especially if you're also in charge of several ships and have to keep your situational awareness high.
Same goes for piracy, I can't type long sentences while target is trying to cruise away. So instead of "Would you, please, cut your engines so I wouldn't cut your throat?" I have to go with "you move - you're dead"
Although, all of that is secondary - real problem is inability to use preset messages in group chats. But if I understood correctly, we'll get it back soon enough.

By the way, this. Due to the problem I mentioned in first paragraph, now I'm often typing engagement notices before getting into the scanner range, in system chat. Just to have time for that. Since once you're in scanner range (applies to BS's mostly, somewhat to cruisers as well) you're too busy with evaluating situation and choosing an optimal approach path, when enemy force got battleships of their own.
Edit the engagement rule to state that a minimum of two lines of roleplay are needed to attack someone.
Edit the setmessage command to allow a preset message to be posted with an interval of 30 seconds.

Yes. Good solutions.

What is better without /setmsg??
Perhaps that admins can resolve reports without looking at tons of logs, perhaps that I know now where rping ends and pvpwhoring begins, or perhaps that when some1 tells something you know he typed little more than 3 letters? Siriusly, there is NOTHING bad in lack of premade meeting messages, shouting "STOP R DIE!!!" is not bad (as long as pirate doesnt go 2milrdie later), and when someone silentkills you, he would do not really do much more with presets.
